Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc., renowned for its advanced AI-driven security solutions, has announced the renewal and expansion of its partnership with Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA.
This extended multi-year agreement will enhance safety measures at the venue through the continued use of Evolv Express®, alongside the deployment of Evolv eXpedite™, an autonomous bag-screening system. Both systems serve to streamline entry operations, facilitating safer and more efficient guest experiences.
Enhancing venue security in Los Angeles
Situated within the bustling L.A. LIVE entertainment district, Crypto.com Arena is a pivotal hub for sports and entertainment events, hosting over four million visitors annually. As the home arena for teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, and Los Angeles Sparks, it also accommodates major concert tours and prestigious events like the GRAMMY Awards. Owned by AEG, the venue's ongoing adoption of Evolv's technologies underscores its commitment to securing a seamless flow of traffic at entry points.
Evolv continues as the “Official Fan Screening Partner” and will engage in various marketing ventures
The arena initially incorporated the Evolv Express® system in 2024, which leverages sophisticated sensor technology and AI to detect concealed weapons while allowing guests to pass through checkpoints without obstructing foot traffic. This new agreement, facilitated by AEG Global Partnerships, includes the addition of Evolv eXpedite for entrances with high levels of bag clutter. As part of their collaboration, Evolv continues as the “Official Fan Screening Partner” and will engage in various marketing ventures with Crypto.com Arena.
Guaranteed security and guest experience
Ron Little, Vice President of Security at Crypto.com Arena, highlighted Evolv’s efficacy: “LA fans tend to arrive late and Evolv allows us to handle that last-minute wave of fans. Our use of Evolv Express since 2024 – and our addition of Evolv eXpedite now – is part of a commitment to get guests to their seats quickly, conveniently, and securely so that they don’t miss the fun and excitement of our world-class events.”
Similarly, Evolv's VP of Sports & Entertainment, John Baier, shared gratitude for the continued trust placed in Evolv’s systems by the arena's management, affirming their dedication to exceptional guest experiences.
Expanding influence in Southern California
Expanding its influence in Southern California, Evolv’s technologies are also employed at SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater in Inglewood, Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Honda Center in Anaheim, and Pechanga Arena in San Diego.
This expansion includes providing security at five North American arenas accommodating both professional basketball and hockey teams, such as Denver's Ball Arena. Together, these collaborations illustrate Evolv's significant role in enhancing security for diverse venues globally.

Crypto.com Arena is part of the L.A. LIVE entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles and is one of the world’s busiest and most successful venues. Owned and operated by AEG, Crypto.com Arena is the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Sparks. Additionally, the arena welcomes more than four million guests and hosts over 200 events annually, including professional basketball and hockey games, major concert tours, and globally recognised events such as the GRAMMY Awards.
Weapons detection systems
The facility originally installed Evolv Express® concealed weapons detection systems in 2024. Evolv Express uses advanced sensor technology and AI to detect concealed threats and identify the person and location of the potential threat — while allowing people to move through checkpoints at their natural walking pace.
The system is designed to screen visitors effectively while helping minimise congestion and disruptions to traffic flow at entry points. Under the new agreement, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, Evolv eXpedite will also be deployed at a designated arena entrance where high-clutter bags are prevalent. Additionally, as part of the renewed agreement, Evolv will continue as the arena’s “Official Fan Screening Partner,” and the two organisations will collaborate on a variety of marketing initiatives.
