The Portland Trail Blazers have partnered with Evolv Technology, a company specialising in AI-based security screening, to enhance the safety protocols at Moda Centre.
The arena has integrated five Evolv Express® systems just in time for its most crowded period, streamlining the entry process and allowing fans to enjoy more time at games and events.

Chris Frey, vice president of safety and security for the Portland Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the benefits of Evolv’s advanced sensor technology.
"Evolv’s advanced sensor technology can help improve our ingress process, allow fans to spend more time inside Moda Centre rather than waiting in line, and support maintaining a safe and secure environment. We are constantly striving to find innovative ways to improve our guest experience, and this partnership is a testament to that commitment,” he stated.

The Evolv Express systems employ cutting-edge sensors and artificial intelligence to distinguish between various threats and common metallic items usually found in pockets. This enables fans to pass through security checks more smoothly without the need for individual stopping for checks, significantly enhancing the entrance process.
With a seating capacity of about 20,000, Moda Centre joins the ranks of other venues like the Footprint Centre in Phoenix and Houston’s Toyota Centre, which have also embraced Evolv technology following the NBA's conditional approval for weapons detection technology at their facilities.

Fans can walk through without always stopping to be checked one by one, helping provide a smooth entry experience.
The Moda Centre, which can seat about 20,000 people, follows other venues such as the Footprint Centre, home of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, and the Toyota Centre, home arena of the NBA’s Houston Rockets, in quickly forging a partnership with Evolv following the league’s recent conditional approval of technology for weapons detection.
