dormakaba has unveiled a new production facility located in Nogales, Mexico, marking a significant development in its operations within the country since 2016. This strategic move, which involves a substantial multimillion-dollar investment, aims to bolster commercial growth across North America.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for this new facility saw the presence of Chief Operations Officer Carsten Franke, senior leaders from dormakaba Americas, employees from Nogales, and several key Mexican dignitaries.
Expanding manufacturing capabilities
Carsten Franke highlighted the strategic importance of the new facility, stating, "Today marks an important milestone for dormakaba. The opening of this new plant in Nogales represents much more than a new facility: it is a key step in building a stronger, resilient, and more flexible manufacturing network - and it reinforces our commitment to drive growth in the North America region and serve our customers with quality, reliability, and speed."

The Nogales facility spans 254,700 square feet and employs over 200 people. It is responsible for producing and distributing mechanical and electronic locks to 40 countries around the world, including major markets such as the United States, Canada, India, and Germany.
The plant is notable for its outstanding safety record, with more than 300,000 hours worked without a recordable injury. It is also supported by a leadership team boasting over 20 years of combined experience in the field.
