BSIA Training Providers advise on how to select a security training company
BSIA’s Training Providers Section created a `one stop shop` for anyone looking for a professional security training provider

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Training Providers section has released some useful tips to help companies and individuals wishing to identify the most reputable and professional security training providers.

The development of the security industry continues to create a wealth of new and exciting career opportunities, and job seekers are having to prove that they possess the skill sets and underpinning knowledge required to operate successfully in this fast-moving arena” said Paul Tennent, Chairman of the BSIA’s Training Providers section.

At the same time, security companies are increasingly striving to ensure the standard of professionalism offered by their employees provides a high quality service for their customers. Employers must therefore make sure staff are consistently trained to meet the requirements of a constantly evolving security environment, including ever-changing threats and rapid technology developments.”

Earlier in the year, the launch of the BSIA’s Training Providers Section created a unique `one stop shop` for anyone looking to find a professional security training provider who can offer them the necessary standard and level of tuition that is required to carry out a security role effectively. Paul added “BSIA members need to meet strict quality criteria in order to join the Association.”

With expertise across the whole industry - from the technical side such as CCTV, Alarms and Access Control to Door Supervisory, Control rooms operations and Management training - BSIA Training Providers have unparalleled knowledge on the requirements for security personnel, and are therefore a great source of advice for security companies and individuals looking at procuring a training provider.”

Moreover, being members means we have access to all major employers in the sector, as the Association represents 70% of the private security industry in the UK. We are therefore constantly aware of what it is that companies are looking for in their employees, and latest development in security that may require training attention.”

There are a wealth of security training facilitators in the industry, so the BSIA's Top Tips will help companies as well as individuals navigate the options to select reputable and quality providers.

Paul concludes: “In the first instance, however, check the training providers' websites. If in doubt, ask to visit their premises as the best companies are proud to show them off.”
