Fire monitoring gets easy with Honeywell’s Pro-Watch Notifier
The Notifier interface results in tighter integration across systems such as intrusion and secondary fire
Honeywell released its Pro-Watch Notifier secondary fire interface. Offered as an application module for Pro-Watch 3.7 Professional and Corporate Edition, Pro-Watch Notifier enables users to monitor Notifier fire events and point status information from a central command and control location.

The Notifier application module leverages the BACnet IP gateway (BACnet-GW-3) to provide secondary fire reporting over standard IT and building automation networks. Because it applies open standards, the interface results in tighter integration across systems such as intrusion, building automation and secondary fire.

The Pro-Watch Notifier application module is ideal for users who monitor multiple systems in geographically diverse locations from a central site. Typical adopters of secondary fire notification include corporate headquarters and office campuses in the bio-pharma, manufacturing, high tech and banking/finance markets, and telecom providers such as TV stations or cable providers. The Pro-Watch Notifier interface is also ideal for K-12 schools, universities and warehouses. The Notifier module is offered with 500 fire points and can be expanded to 2,000 fire points per panel in increments of 250.

The Pro-Watch Notifier product makes operators more productive by automating fire monitoring responses

Building on Pro-Watch and Pro-Watch Video Manager, users can centralise security operations and standardise response procedures. The Pro-Watch Notifier interface increases operator productivity by enabling operators to monitor more than one system at a time and reduces the cost of errors that naturally occur from manual response processes. It also facilitates a unified electronic audit trail of guard responses and actions.

"Today a guard operator has a dedicated console for each system being monitored. Operators are trained on each console and on the response procedures for each alarm. If more than one system is involved in the response, additional procedures and training must be provided to manually implement the response procedure across systems," said Carlos Lopez-Reyna, Pro-Watch product manager, Honeywell. "The Pro-Watch Notifier product makes operators more productive by automating fire monitoring responses. It streamlines the creation of response procedures across multiple systems and decreases operator training time by reducing manual steps and the number of systems each operator needs to be trained on."

Honeywell will demonstrate Pro-Watch Notifier at ISC West 2010. For more information, click here.
