Hikvision introduces HD standalone series of DVRs capable of accessing analog cameras up to 650TVL

Hikvision proudly launches its newest, exciting high definition standalone series of DVRs: the DS-8100HWI-ST series. With the capability of accessing analogue cameras up to 650TVL, the DS-8100HWI-ST is ideal for applications in which high resolution surveillance is required. Venues such as financial institutions, the telecom industry, as well as transportation and utilities industries, all directly benefit from this new DVR series.

It has become evident that the switch to high definition is more than a simple trend in the security industry. The video surveillance market is no different. With the release of 650TVL day/night cameras, Hikvision continues to emphasize its commitment to developing matched DVR products that support higher TVL analogue cameras and meet market demand; and all the while achieve true high definition.

The DS-8100HWI-ST series of DVRs is notable from previous Hikvision DVR series in a number of areas; one particularly relevant example is the inclusion of Texas Instruments' Netra high performance embedded platform. This platform allows enhanced video recording stability and real-time video encoding capability at a resolution of WD1 (PAL: 960×576 / NTSC: 960×480).

The DS-8100HWI-ST, with this Netra platform, has an innovative design utilising dual systems - one in operation and the other providing a continual backup. If the operation system does crash, this back-up system is immediately activated, thereby insuring zero data loss and continued DVR stability. Critically, this transition is automatic, with users not noticing any operational problems in relation to the crash.

Furthermore, the DS-8100HWI-ST supports multi-channel synchronous playback, as well as simultaneous HDMI and VGA output at 1920×1080 resolution. In addition, HDD group management technology is adopted to maximize storage space; redundant recording and eSATA high-speed backup are also supported. The units meets a variety of network surveillance needs, including a self-adaptive 10M/100M/1000M network interface, which is especially useful for large-scale surveillance applications.
