The seventh edition of Secutech Vietnam gathered 4,252 visitors when it was held from 20 – 22 August 2014 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd, the renowned annual show is known as the country’s leading trade fair for the security, fire and safety industry.

The three-day show featured advanced security products, solutions and services by 100 exhibitors from nine countries and regions, including China, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, the UK and Vietnam. Also in attendance were professional installers, system integrators, M&E engineers and distributors from around Asia who were sourcing products and seeking market information exchange.

Mr Joseph Lee, General Manager for Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd, said: “The fair spanned across 3,000 sqm of exhibition space and has gradually established itself as an integral platform that connects both domestic and overseas suppliers to the Vietnamese market. We are proud to have provided the global industry an opportunity to meet growing demand for security and safety products and advanced technologies in Vietnam.”

Supported by security industry associations, related local organisations and the government, Secutech Vietnam is well-known among field experts. Mr Bui Quang Huy, exhibitor and Sales Manager at AXIS, stated: "The fair was a very professional show and a great platform for displaying innovative security technologies and products."

Echoing the same sentiment was Mr Nguyen Minh Cuong, exhibitor and Assistant Manager at Panasonic, who commented: "Panasonic has joined Secutech Vietnam many times as this is the only international event for security, fire and safety products in Vietnam. There are no other events like this. This year, we introduced our new products and vertical solutions to customers and found new partners.”

Mr Paolo Gianni Saranga, Marketing Manager Asia Pacific at Flir, expressed: “Flir has joined Secutech Vietnam for the first time because Vietnam is a blooming market in ASEAN. It’s one of the focus markets for Flir. We met lots of professional buyers at the show. We also joined the GDSF professional seminar to announce our new products. Secutech Vietnam assists us to build up the brand here and increase market share. We will definitely attend Secutech Vietnam again!”

Mr Le Quoc Hieu, Business Development Manager at Bosch, stated: "Bosch has joined Secutech for two years as it is one of the best security and safety shows in Vietnam. The professional visitors’ quality is high and we can exhibit all of our latest products for those buyers. The GDSF was also a good showcase to announce BOSCH’s latest products and we will join Secutech Vietnam again!”

Fair connects industry experts and buyers through Global Digital Surveillance Forum and other fringe programme events

One of the highlights this year was the brand new Banking Demo area, which simulated a real banking area and showcased an array of specialised security items.

Ms Constance Vidal, Sales & Marketing Manager at Source of Asia Ltd and fair visitor, said: “Secutech Vietnam is the only professional security, fire and safety show in Vietnam. We found the latest surveillance systems, access control, fire and safety products at the show. Also, the various seminars kept us aware of new technologies and security solutions.”

Mr Ly Phu Tai, Marketing Executive at Song Nhac, mentioned: “Secutech Vietnam 2014 was an ideal place for security players. I am interested in some brand names such as Dahua, Hikvision and others. New HDCVI and HDSDI technologies were more attractive to me than analogue technology.”

The annual one-day Global Digital Surveillance Forum (GDSF) Vietnam was held concurrently with the show and focused on leading technologies, applications and solutions in digital surveillance from top international suppliers.

Mr Le Thanh Tin, seminar speaker and Technical Support Engineer at Honeywell, commented: "Our seminar topic ‘Integrated Safety & Security Solutions for Airports’ attracted a group of professional audience and we received quality feedback. Honeywell joined Secutech GDSF in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and we will join GDSF again.”

Mr Jang Kwang-Hyun, CEO at E-Gonggam in Republic of Korea Institute of Technology, said: “We joined Secutech Vietnam for the first time and met many new customers and partners here. We will attend the upcoming Secutech shows in the future!”
