Axxon, the market leader in open IP video management software
Axxon confirmed as EMEA market leader of open platform network video management software market
Axxon announced today that IMS Research's report ‘The EMEA Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment 2009 Edition' confirmed its position as the EMEA region market leader of the open platform network video management software market, based on confirmed revenues in 2008. Axxon held 18.7% share of the EMEA market that delivered revenues of $95.9m in 2008, despite the onset of the downturn.

Axxon's Intellect platform is commonly regarded as the most comprehensive and advanced open IP network video management system (VMS) in the market today. Its use at the heart of the world's largest public safety system for the Moscow ‘Safe Cities' project proves its flexibility, capability and scalability to support up to 150,000 cameras.

Axxon Intellect provides a single environment for intelligent video analytics, plug and play IP connectivity and event-driven automation. It integrates seamlessly with a wide range of analogue and IP security devices as well as business management systems including building management, CRM, HR, quality control and retail Point of Sale (POS). It has additional modules for the retail and transport sectors which offer integration to a comprehensive range of operational systems supporting these markets.

Axxon has taken this pedigree and used it to create a highly cost effective professional version of its offering called SmartPro. SmartPro is set to be launched throughout Western Europe during the last quarter of 2010 as the company engages distributors and integration partners in key territories of Spain, Germany and the UK prior to expansion further afield.

This IMS report shows that a significant and growing percentage of market revenues in 2008 flowed in the direction of open video management software away from proprietary solutions. IMS Research estimates that by 2013 open VMS will have nearly 90% of sales in the category due to the fact that ‘open platform solutions offer far superior functionality and scope for integration', IMS found.

Axxon's Intellect platform is a most comprehensive and advanced open IP network video management system

Luis Coello, business development director, Axxon, said: "Axxon, although only recently operating on the ground in Western Europe, starts its global expansion in the fantastic position of having already secured market leadership in open network video management software market, as confirmed by this latest study. You will hear a great deal more from us as we build our sales channels and extend our customer-base throughout Western Europe in the coming months and years."

Alastair Hayfield, research manager, Security & Fire Group, IMS Research, commented: "According to IMS Research's latest video surveillance report, Axxon is the largest vendor of open VMS software in EMEA. This is an impressive achievement for a company in its sixth year of operation and owes a lot to the company's success in its home market of Russia. IMS Research has observed Axxon expand its global presence throughout 2009 and sees potential for a strong future."
