Prysmian supports quality control in surveillance cables manufacturing with ACI
Prysmian is a lead supporter of the ACI and is at the front of the fight against non-approved and counterfeit cables
Newly re-elected MP for Wrexham, Ian Lucas, spent some of his pre-election campaign visiting Prysmian's factory in Wrexham, North Wales and confirmed his backing for the ACI in the process. Prysmian is a lead supporter of the ACI and is at the front of the fight against non-approved and counterfeit cables.

Days before being re-elected to office, Mr Lucas had a tour of the facility on 28th April, talked with workers and agreed to join the cross party support the ACI has gained since being launched in Westminster on 2nd March.

The ACI objectives are clear: communicate, educate and raise awareness of unsafe, non-approved and counterfeit cables in the UK. Prysmian acknowledges this is a major problem in the £2 billion UK marketplace, one that will not go away overnight and is fully behind the ACI efforts in lobbying with the Government for support, with great recent success.

Mr Lucas met with Prysmian Managing Director, Massimo Battaini, and Director of Energy and Telecom Cables, Michael Simms. They discussed the aims and objectives of the ACI and met Councillor and cable maker, Nigel Hughes, where they were shown the cable manufacturing process. Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, and Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Chris Huhne, have already lent their support to the ACI on a visit to Prysmian's Bishopstoke factory earlier in April.
