Semperis has announced its acquisition of MightyID, a company known for its expertise in identity resilience, particularly with cloud identity providers such as Okta and Ping. Through this acquisition, Semperis aims to strengthen its focus on identity-first security and crisis management, addressing complex hybrid identity environments that include Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, and Ping.
“This strategic move furthers our mission to help organisations achieve true cyber resilience,” said Mickey Bresman, Semperis CEO. “Effective defence means resilience—not just prevention—so operations can continue, even under attack. This acquisition advances our leadership in identity-driven security and crisis management, helping organisations ensure mission continuity in the face of modern cyberattacks.”
Cloud identity platforms
MightyID has been recognised in Gartner’s 2025 Guidance for Workforce Access Management for its capabilities in backup, restoration, migration, and failover for cloud identity platforms. These features ensure that authentication and access remain intact even when primary systems experience disruptions.

“With MightyID joining Semperis, we’re extending our comprehensive identity resilience across the identity fabric—the complex web of IdPs, apps, users, devices, and governance solutions that organisations manage,” stated Alex Weinert, Semperis Chief Product Officer. “This means stronger coverage across hybrid identity and multi-cloud environments, whether on-premises or in the cloud, where an outage can provoke a business crisis.”
Managing hybrid identity systems
The integration of MightyID into Semperis’ platform is set to enhance capabilities for organisations managing hybrid identity systems:
- Continuous exposure management to counter sophisticated attacks, preventing lateral movement from on-premises to cloud environments.
- Automated remediation of malicious changes across the hybrid identity environment.
- Rapid, flexible recovery of hybrid identity systems, equipped with fault tolerance for incident response scenarios.
- Turnkey crisis management to expedite a return to normal business operations post-attack.
“Combining MightyID’s innovation in protecting cloud identity platforms with Semperis’ established expertise in full-lifecycle identity resilience ultimately benefits any organisation that needs to protect their complex, multi-cloud identity environments from attacks,” commented Chris Steinke, Chief Operating Officer at MightyID. “Given that hybrid AD and Entra ID environments form the infrastructure backbone for 90% of businesses worldwide, this move ensures a seamless and flexible approach to identity resilience, providing protection irrespective of the chosen cloud identity platform.”
