Intellian has inaugurated its new European Headquarters and Logistics Centre in Rotterdam, marking a significant commitment to its operations within the region. This purpose-built facility aims to elevate the service and user experience of Intellian’s clientele across Europe and globally.
Strategic Investment in Rotterdam
The state-of-the-art, €6.5 million facility has been meticulously designed by the satellite communications solutions provider to achieve operational efficiency, optimise supply chains, and accelerate product delivery across the crucial European market. Intellian's decision to establish ownership in Rotterdam, a key maritime commerce hub, positions the company to bolster its customer service efforts in forthcoming years.
Expanded Operational Space
The newly constructed building offers an advanced interior that significantly expands Intellian's previous operational area in the city, now occupying a 3,773m² plot incorporating office and warehouse facilities. Its comprehensive layout includes a solution centre, customer support centre, a product demonstration space on a rooftop veranda, multiple loading docks, and a complete range of test systems.
Enhanced Customer Engagement
The headquarters also houses an extensive training centre, catering to a growing team of 35, and provides a supportive environment for product testing, seminars, workshops, and customer meetings. This initiative is intended to enhance the customer experience and meet the increasing demand for Intellian's services.
Statements from Intellian
Jon Harrison, Vice President and General Manager at Intellian, stated, “We are extremely proud to announce that our new European Headquarters is now open. This significant and worthwhile investment in Europe is crucial to the future success of Intellian and our global partners, meeting increasing product demand and the need to be agile with a new infrastructure and facility. Optimizing operational efficiency, the EU HQ and Global Logistics Centre will greatly enhance our customers’ experience, improving training, logistics, and system testing. Our continued mission is to streamline the overall supply chain, ensuring faster delivery, increased capacity for stock, and additional product lines. This new flagship facility will deliver a polished, higher quality of service, not only for Europe, but for all Intellian partners and customers globally."
A Platform for Further Growth
Harrison added, “We would particularly like to extend our gratitude to the city for their invaluable assistance. As the biggest maritime address in Europe, we know Rotterdam is the place to be. We first moved to the city 10 years ago as part of a global initiative and our growth was exponential. After making the crucial decision to transition from rented space to investing in the city of Rotterdam several years ago, they welcomed our request to find a site to build our own facility from the beginning. We can now celebrate the establishment of a customised local and regional base which creates the perfect launch pad for future success in Europe and enables us to accommodate increasing demand.”
Future Plans and Regional Impact
Reflecting on the significance of local support, Harrison noted, “Our customers thrive on local support, so we know that serving our customers on the spot, and not remotely, is the only option. That is why we are confident that Intellian’s investment in Europe, while major competitors are divesting, will result in long-term business success and customer satisfaction. It is yet another example of how Intellian consistently excels at meeting operational challenges.”
The Rotterdam project is among several new sites that Intellian plans to open this year, including a new Research and Development Centre in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, completed recently. Additionally, Intellian's UK team will relocate to new premises near Heathrow, London, creating more space for a growing team and situating them close to key partners. A new R&D facility dedicated to emerging technologies is also set to commence operations in Maryland, USA.
