Intellian has unveiled its latest innovation in satellite communication technology, the GX100NX, during the Intellian Asia-Pacific Partner Event in Seoul, Korea. The new 1m Global Xpress terminal is specifically designed for use with Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress, a high-speed maritime satellite service, and promises enhanced performance due to its efficient RF design and capability for global operations.
Advanced Modular Design
The GX100NX features a future-oriented design supporting 2.5GHz Wideband Ka networks, achieved through optimised components like its reflector and radome. Offering flexible bandwidth options at sea, it includes a 10W BUC option that can be easily upgraded without additional components. The innovative NX platform uses a single coaxial cable to manage transmissions, receptions, and power supply, simplifying the installation process. This modular construction aims to lower ownership costs over time, enhancing reliability and easing maintenance.
Integrated Antenna Management
Intellian has introduced a new All-in-One GX Below Deck Terminal (BDT) that incorporates vital components such as an antenna control unit, modem, power supply, 4-port switch, and mediator. This integration is designed to streamline the installation process for Intellian’s Fleet Xpress Rack, cutting down both time and expense. The company’s advanced software, AptusNX, accompanies the new hardware, offering an intuitive installation wizard with step-by-step guidance. This software also features enhanced diagnostic functions to alert operators when predictive maintenance is necessary.
Introduction of the Global Xpress Terminal
Eric Sung, CEO of Intellian, expressed enthusiasm during the event, stating, “We’re delighted to introduce the all new GX100NX to the valued partners and customers at our APAC partner event." He noted that the terminal’s modern and user-friendly design ensures significant advantages in performance, installation, and servicing, particularly for sectors like commercial shipping, oil and gas, and yachting. The GX100NX is expected to be available for purchase by June 2019.
