HID, known for its trusted identity solutions, has unveiled new improvements aimed at accelerating the adoption of mobile access as organisations transition to digital security measures. These updates, revealed ahead of GSX 2026, are designed to allow companies to leverage their current infrastructure, minimising onsite efforts and simplifying deployment by removing the necessity to replace readers or issue new mobile keys.
One primary challenge in mobile project implementation is updating existing readers across facilities. The HID Mobile Access App now features enhancements that enable HID mobile-ready readers, such as HID Signo™ and iCLASS® SE™, to operate with current Seos® keys without needing reader replacements, firmware updates, or truck rolls. This innovation provides a quicker, more cost-effective route to mobile solutions while upholding HID's reliable security.
Large-scale implementations
"Organisations have recognised the value of mobile access for years, but large-scale implementations have often required significant time, resources and coordination," says Nick Stoner, Vice President, PACS NAM Channel Sales at HID. "These new capabilities make mobile deployments more practical by allowing customers to use the infrastructure they already have and giving integration partners a more efficient way to deliver projects."
HID is also introducing QuickStart to Mobile in North America for its Advantage Partner Program (APP) partners involved in the Trade-Up initiative. This service allows HID to onboard end users on behalf of integration partners, enabling a faster start to issuing mobile credentials and freeing partners to concentrate on project execution.

To aid the transition to mobile technology, HID is broadening digital wallet support by integrating Samsung Wallet, making digital wallet choices available in global markets. This move intends to increase mobile adoption by aligning with wallets that users already utilise, thereby enhancing convenience.
Furthermore, HID Linq™ Mobile offers a simplified management system for readers, permitting administrators to configure, update, and ready compatible readers directly from mobile devices. The capability to carry out firmware updates, reader configuration, and mobile enablement onsite via Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) and NFC significantly curtails the onsite work needed for preparing devices for mobile credentials.

The latest enhancements from HID do not force organisations to choose between maintaining existing infrastructure and adopting mobile credentials. Instead, they provide a viable path for digital transformation that accommodates both. This allows customers to expand mobile access strategically, capitalising on existing investments while supporting their current and future operational goals. These upgrades highlight HID's focus on customer needs and its ongoing commitment to maximizing the value derived from investments in HID technology.
