HID Global, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, recently announced it will be showcasing its government ID solutions at the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Ninth Symposium and Exhibition on Machine Readable Travel Documents (MRTDs), Biometrics and Border Security.  As a sponsor of this year’s symposium, Rob Haslam, vice president of Government ID Solutions with HID Global will be addressing the delegates over lunch on Thursday, October 24. Mr. Haslam will be discussing the emerging trend toward citizen-centric electronic ID (eID) solutions. He will draw upon HID Global’s proven experience in helping governments around the world develop secure ID programs designed to meet the unique needs of citizens including the demand for greater security, convenience and time and cost efficiencies.

“We are working with governments around the world to design and implement eID and e-passport solutions that take into account the many needs of citizens, while helping to improve their daily lives,” said Mr. Haslam.  “Not only are we providing today’s most advanced, secure ID technologies to protect identities and borders in the form of e-passports and national eIDs, but we are constantly innovating in the areas of smart card design, manufacturing, enrollment and issuance so as to provide citizens with greater personal security as well as cost and time efficiencies.”

ICAO’s Ninth Symposium and Exhibition on MRTDs, Biometrics and Border Security will be held October 22-24, 2013 at ICAO headquarters in Montreal, Canada. Mr. Haslam will be presenting on October 24th at the ICAO delegate luncheon. Additional HID Global speakers include Adam Tangun, vice president of EMEA sales, Government ID Solutions and Kathy Alsbrooks, head of North America sales, Government ID Solutions. Mr. Tangun and Ms. Alsbrooks will be discussing how HID Global addresses such complex government ID programs as the U.S. Permanent Resident Card (“Green Card”) program.

The company will highlight its extensive suite of services, products and solutions that include e-documents, readers, inlays, prelaminates, LaserCard® optical security media, ActivID® Credential Management System and its FARGO® secure card production printers.
