| Lieutenant General Sir Robert Fulton KBE is the newly elected Presdient of Corps Security |
Corps Security has announced that Lieutenant General Sir Robert Fulton KBE has been elected as the organisation's new President, succeeding Lieutenant General Sir Henry Beverley KCB OBE who leaves the organisation after 15 years in the role.
An Old Etonian, Sir Robert's distinguished military career began in 1972 when he joined the Royal Marines. In a military career of 34 years, he commanded 42 Commando and 3 Commando Brigade before being appointed Commandant General Royal Marines in 1998. He left the Armed Forces in 2006 as the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff for Equipment Capability. In 2006 he was appointed to be the 63rd Governor of Gibraltar and returned to UK in 2009.
Commenting on his new appointment, Sir Robert said, "Having served as a trustee since 2010, I am delighted to be able to carry on the fine work of Sir Henry Beverley in the role of President. Corps Security's prestigious history is a source of great pride to all who work for the organisation and we will continue to ensure that dedication, integrity and the pursuit of excellence is at the heart of what we do."
Having served as Commandant General of the Royal Marines between 1990-94, Sir Henry joined Corps Security in 1996. He said, "The last 15 years have been an exciting time for all at Corps Security and I take great satisfaction in leaving it in such a healthy position."
Corps Security's chief executive, Peter Webster, concluded, "It has been our immense privilege to have Sir Henry as our President and I would like to thank him for his work during his tenure. We welcome Sir Robert to his new role and look forward to working with him and drawing on his vast knowledge and experience."
