Atos has recently announced its plan to recruit 30 apprentices at its newly developed Sovereign Delivery Centre located in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull.
This initiative forms part of the company's strategy to equip the future workforce with skills suitable for an AI-driven environment.
Transformation of Sovereign Delivery Centre
The centre is undergoing a transformation into a cutting-edge facility that aligns with sustainable building practices and Atos’ extensive engineering history.
By focusing on AI-enabled sovereign offerings, the centre aims to meet the increasing demand for UK-based IT services, automation, data hosting, and resilience solutions tailored for public sector, defence, and critical national infrastructure.
Apprentice responsibilities and training
With Next Tech Girls, Atos is hiring IT Service Desk Apprentices to support global clientsIn collaboration with Next Tech Girls, Atos is recruiting IT Service Desk Apprentices to provide support to clients worldwide.
These apprentices will take on roles as First Line Support Desk Agents, whose tasks involve being the initial point of contact for clients, handling incident logging, troubleshooting, escalation, and customer service. Twenty percent of their time will be dedicated to completing a Level 3 Qualification.
Hands-on experience across technologies
The new recruits will be exposed to a broad spectrum of fields, including AI, cloud services, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital services.
This comprehensive approach ensures that apprentices build careers that evolve with technological advancements rather than compete against them.
Developing skills for an AI-driven future

Partnership with Solihull College & University Centre
The programme is operated in partnership with Solihull College & University Centre, where apprentices will undertake their classroom-based education. Nancy Buckley, the Vice Principal for Business Growth, Skills and Partnerships at the college, highlighted the benefits of this programme, stating, “We are proud to partner with Atos to equip apprentices with the skills, confidence and technical experience needed to thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape. This apprenticeship programme gives learners access to cutting‑edge technologies and real‑world problem solving from day one, ensuring they build strong, future‑proof careers in an AI‑enabled world.”
