Allient Inc., known for its innovative Motion, Controls and Power solutions across various sectors, announced that its senior executive, Steve Warzala, will be attending an upcoming seminar at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Warzala, who serves as President of Allient Defence as well as Chief Growth Officer and Corporate Vice President, will represent Allient at the Golisano Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Initiative (GIDDI) seminar titled "Adaptive Sports and Recreation Activities: Lessons Learned."
The event is scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025, and will be held from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at FGCU’s Sugden Hall (SRHM), Room 111, located in Fort Myers, Florida.
Empowering Individuals with Disabilities
This educational seminar is organised in collaboration with Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports (GBAS), a nonprofit dedicated to enabling adaptive sports for people with physical, developmental, and intellectual challenges. The session aims to offer valuable insights into the establishment and sustainability of adaptive sports and recreation initiatives.
Attendees will gain practical guidance on how to effectively create and support programs that allow individuals with disabilities in Southwest Florida to participate in sports. The focus will cover various aspects from initial planning stages through to long-term viability, enriching community engagement and empowerment.
"Allient is proud to support GBAS and the work being done through GIDDI to expand opportunities for adaptive recreation," stated Steve Warzala. "Participating in programs like this reflects our commitment to strengthening communities and putting our values into action beyond our core Motion, Controls, and Power capabilities."
