MESSOA's PTZ speed dome chosen to monitor giant pandas’ habitats
MESSOA's PTZ speed dome chosen to monitor giant pandas’ habitats

The giant panda is one of the most recognised and studied animals in the world today. When China gave the Taipei Zoo two giant pandas in December 2008, the Taiwanese public responded enthusiastically. The Taipei Zoo, which is owned by the Taipei City Government, has now selected MESSOA's SDS710M PTZ speed-dome cameras for monitoring of the pandas' zone. These cameras feature integrated auto-tracking software that provides zoo staff in the security control room with 24-hour surveillance of the pandas, ensuring that staff are able to monitor the pandas' activities and track their movements around the clock. These kinds of video records are extremely valuable to scientists and those from the zoo are sure to make a major contribution to global panda research. The PTZ speed domes feature absolute-coordinate-axis positioning (via two-way RS485) and integrated auto-tracking software, facilitating 24-hour monitoring and observation of giant panda behaviours. They also integrate high-performance zooms with superfine 0.02° pan controls to deliver exceptionally smooth tracking that facilitates capture of moving subjects. The cameras pan at up to 430° per second and tilt at up to 200° per second, allowing quick and efficient capture of the pandas. Giant pandas are an endangered species native to the mountains of central China. They are typically found at elevations between 1,400 and 3,500 feet in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu Provinces. The Taipei Zoo constructed its Xinguang Special Exhibit House specifically to provide the two giant pandas sent to Taiwan with a similar, suitable habitat. The building's three comfortable and health-centric indoor enclosures are all air conditioned and maintain the interior humidity at 60-70% all year round. Given that the MESSOA SDS710M operates flawlessly in 20-80% relative humidity and is IP66/67-compliant indeed, it was the perfect choice for the conditions inside the panda enclosures. The Taipei Zoo has selected the MESSOA SDS710M to monitor its precious pandas and track their behaviour, confident that the cameras will deliver outstanding performance and reliability over the long term. The PTZ speed domes features absolute-coordinate-axis positioning and integrated auto-tracking software MESSOA SDS700 PTZ speed dome series features: Vandal-proof (750 Kg) speed dome 216X (18X optical), 312X (26X optical), 432X (36X optical) zoom 128X wide dynamic range (PRO series) Turbo-charged preset speeds: pan 430°/sec.; tilt 200°/sec. Highly accurate panning (±0.02°) 256 preset points (group function is available) 24 3D privacy zones Intelligent motion detection Alarm I/O: 6-in/1-out Supports absolute (X, Y, Z) position commands and able to integrate auto-tracking software and e-map related applications Supports multiple protocols Networkable (full D1) and easy to install (hot swappable) Scheduling: supports 28 schedules per week Tours: supports four programmable tours (up to 6 minutes each) Waterproofing: IP66/ IP67-compliant

Furniture factory opts for MESSOA to secure property
Furniture factory opts for MESSOA to secure property

Located in the suburb of Nazareth, Israel, the furniture factory specialises in manufacturing wooden furnishings, such as shelves and dining tables. The factory owner was looking for a reliable, cost-effective video monitoring system that not only could provide a security means to ensure property security, but also to watch over production line while improving the operating efficiency. The factory building consists of three main areas: the office area for administration and customer reception, the manufacturing area production, and the stock area for storage and shipping. Realising each area varies in sizes and security requirements, the MESSOA CCTV cameras were recommended for this project. PTZ and dome cameras deployed to meet diverse needs Upon a professional planning, the SDS730PRO PTZ speed dome cameras were selected to mount on both the interior and exterior walls for securing the factory's perimeter. With its superior sensitivity and WDR function, the SDS730PRO enables the operators to watch over difficult-to-see spots with exceptional clarity regardless of the lighting conditions. The camera's 360-degree pan, 360-degree tilt and panoramic rotation capability makes wide-area surveillance an easy task. A number of SDF412 dome cameras are deployed together with the speed dome camera at corners where the sight is blocked by pipelines to complement the view angles by avoiding any blind spots. For indoor surveillance, the high-resolution SDF417U dome cameras were chosen to oversee critical locations inside the building, such as the main entrance and the stock area, where they are used as a visual confirmation to the access control. The cameras are intended for monitoring all the woodworking and assembly lines, providing real-time managerial overview of the production site to ensure employee safety and smooth operations. MESSOA providing effective surveillance After the successful deployment, the owner now has a peace of mind, knowing that his property is reliably secured with the MESSOA cameras. Impressed by the cameras' image quality and reliability, he also believes the business will grow as the production process is becoming smoother and more efficient with the help from MESSOA.

Messoa video surveillance solution secures Taiwan Life Insurance headquarters in Taiwan
Messoa video surveillance solution secures Taiwan Life Insurance headquarters in Taiwan

The new headquarters building of Taiwan Life Insurance, one of the top insurers in Taiwan, was complete in late 2012. Sit in the heart of the busy commercial district on Zhongshan North Road, Taipei City, the 12-storey, stone-facade building with the elegant interior design is a modern architecture engineered to meet the most stringent standards in engineering, green sustainability, and safety. Looking to house thousands of staff employees while integrating corporate resources all under one roof, Taiwan Life Insurance needed to employ a video surveillance solution that fulfills its highest requirements for securing the building’s overall safety. The insurer wanted both quality and reliability to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone working and paying visits at the venue. Solution Several system integrators competed for the tender, and eventually Siemens came through based on the MESSOA video surveillance solution with the leading specifications and imaging performance. In early 2013, a total of just over 100 MESSOA CCTV cameras were deployed, covering the capacious 30,000sqm of gross floor space of the building. Among them, a dozen of SDS730PRO speed dome cameras were installed on the exterior of the building to secure the perimeters; thirty some pieces of SCR368 IR bullet cameras were mounted at security-concerning areas, overlooking the lobby, and key access points where adverse lighting is present; and the rest were SDR447 dome cameras, which were used for discreet monitoring of elevators, hallways, and staircases on each floor. Built in with Sony CCD and top-tier components, all three models deployed in this project deliver up to 700 TVL high quality images that are positive for identification and video analysis in case of any incidence. The camera sensitivity and image processing capability are further improved by the proprietary Lumii™ Technology to deliver sharper and crisper images under all lighting conditions at all times regardless of the locations the cameras are installed. Both the SDR447 and the SCR368 are fitted with varifocal lenses, which offer maximum flexibility in installation such that the security system can be easily adapted to various environments and be operated without any difficulty. The lean, compact size of SDR447 made the cameras discreet and unobtrusive, which goes rather well with the building’s classy interior design. Result The inspection team from Taiwan Life Insurance expressed their satisfaction after they had run a complete test on the system. They paid extra attention on the cameras’ performance, including the pan-tilt-zoom functions, as well as live view and playback video of all critical monitored scenes inside the building. Everything they saw on the monitor turned out clear, even where places that may be poor lit. The team was confident that the safety of its brand new headquarters can be well assured.
