Avigilon HD surveillance system deployed by Millennium Aviation for increased security

Avigilon cameras were installed throughout the FBO main entrance, lobby, hanger and parking areas

Avigilon, a leader in high-definition (HD) and megapixel video surveillance solutions, recently announced that Millennium Aviation, a fixed-base operator (FBO) in Reading, Pennsylvania has deployed the Avigilon high-definition surveillance system to secure aircraft valued at more than $100 million, safeguard staff and passengers, and protect itself against false liability claims. As a result, the FBO has obtained favourable insurance premiums that positively impact their bottom line. The Avigilon high-definition surveillance system was selected for its high-resolution image quality, reliable network connectivity, and simplified management tools.

Millennium Aviation installed Avigilon 5 MP cameras throughout the FBO main entrance, lobby, hanger, parking areas, and fuel storage area. They also installed the Avigilon 29 MP camera to effectively monitor the entire airport ramp. The management team uses the Avigilon Control Center (ACC) network video management software (NVMS) with High-Definition Stream Management™ technology from their workstations. The team leverages ACC Mobile to view live and recorded images wirelessly from anywhere on the network and installed an Avigilon Network Video Recorder (NVR) to store up to 30 days of continuous surveillance footage. The Avigilon high-definition surveillance system was installed on the airport’s existing network to manage the system and is integrated with the FBO’s access control system to monitor its vehicle entrance gate and remotely grant access when required.

Leveraging ACC Mobile, management staff can monitor facility maintenance remotely, call in additional staff if required, and conduct training to ensure proper procedures are being followed. Using the Avigilon HD 29 MP camera, the FBO can zoom in from 100 feet and clearly capture a two inch section of an aircraft to check for damage to protect itself against false liability claims and save thousands of dollars each year. With the Avigilon high-definition surveillance system in place, Millennium Aviation can acquire insurance coverage from the highest-rated underwriters in the industry, lower its deductible, and attract and retain aircraft operators to grow its business.
