| Tyco's solution allows Millworks Custom Manufacturing to monitor who is coming in and out of the building more effectively |
Tyco Security Products announced today that Millworks Custom Manufacturing in Toronto, Canada, has installed a complete security solution using DSC PowerSeries Neo to integrate a wireless intrusion system throughout its custom millworks facility.
DSC PowerSeries Neo
DSC PowerSeries Neo is a wireless intrusion system with PowerG technology that provides around the clock monitoring to multiple perimeter doors. This system offers protection to Millworks Custom Manufacturing’s valuable hardwood materials in the facility, which are routinely used to create custom furnishings for large offices, restaurants, retail stores and art galleries around the world. Millworks Custom Manufacturing installed this system due to their need of a highly reliable alarm system that closely monitors the opening and closing of numerous doors day and night.
Remote and automatic door checking
“Our shop is pretty busy with multiple doors opening and closing at various times in any 24-hour period,” said Wojtek Sztokiecki, Controller at Millworks Custom Manufacturing. “Having each door marked and equipped with a sensor makes it easy at the end of the day to remotely and automatically check if any doors are left open.”
With more than 250 employees and a 24-hour operation, Millworks Custom Manufacturing occupies over 140,000 square feet of custom manufacturing and warehousing space, which in certain areas reaches up to three stories high.
Wireless monitoring solution
As a result of this new security solution, the custom manufacturing company is able to monitor who is coming in and out of the building more effectively. PowerSeries Neo has the ability to transmit through thick steel barrier walls, across parking lots and throughout the expansive building. This security solution consists of wireless repeaters, full message wired keypads for the main office as well as a full message wireless keypad that is placed in all the main employee entrances. With all of these different elements, the PowerSeries Neo is able to tell when and where a door is open that shouldn’t be.
