barox's new technology partnership with Network Optix

Barox Kommunikation AG has unveiled its latest technology partnership with Network Optix, enhancing its integration offerings with a prominent video management system (VMS) and physical security information management (PSIM) provider.

This development aims to advance the management and support of Network Optix's Nx Witness video networks, leveraging a new barox plug-in specifically designed for this purpose.

Enhanced integration capabilities

The barox Network Optix plug-in grants Nx Witness users access to an expanded suite of integration features. These include comprehensive diagnostics, power over Ethernet (PoE) management, CPU temperature analysis, and network health monitoring, all accessible through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI).

This collaboration marks a significant addition to the barox product range, which already boasts an extensive array of integration plug-ins. Barox is noted for its manufacturing of Ethernet switches tailored to the specific needs of Internet Protocol (IP) video networks. 

Their switches are equipped with advanced integration, cybersecurity, and network diagnostic tools, making them suitable for applications in public spaces, critical national infrastructure, utilities, transport hubs, data centres, government, military, and the oil and gas sector.

A preferred integration solution

Barox Ethernet switches stand out due to their enhanced diagnostic capabilities, which allow for real-time status updates of cameras and switches. This feature provides users the ability to quickly identify and rectify network or device issues remotely. For instance, should a network camera become unresponsive, barox switches can automatically issue a reboot command, minimising downtime and often resolving issues without onsite technical intervention.

During security breaches, system integrity is maintained by disabling devices at the user level, while complete remote management of PoE on ports permits users to reset or deactivate them as needed. These advanced functionalities have made barox products highly valued assets in managing high-security video surveillance networks.
