Open Options, the provider of innovative access control solutions, recently completes a technology partnership with Schindler, one of the providers of elevators, escalators, and moving walks, allowing users yet another option with their access and elevator control solution. New with DNA Fusion version 188.8.131.52, the Schindler third-party database interface gives users the ability to manage their elevator dispatch control through the user-friendly DNA Fusion platform. All access information is set up within the Schindler Port Technology system, and DNA Fusion allows the operator to set up special access levels that reference those Port Technology profiles. This allows cardholder, credential, and access information to be transferred in real-time to the Schindler Port Technology system. Increased facility security Ideal for multi-elevator installations, this solution groups passengers with similar destinations into the same elevators. This ultimately reduces wait and travel times when compared to a traditional approach, where all passengers enter the same lift and then request their destination. Additional benefits include a single interface for access and elevator events, increased facility security and efficiency, cost savings, and much more. "We're excited to offer a joint solution between our DNA Fusion access control software and multiple elevator management platforms, including our most recent integration with Schindler," said Open Options Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Brent Doherty. "Open Options is dedicated to providing open platform solutions, which is why we continually work with leading security providers and technologies to develop integrations that provide end users best-of-breed solutions to complement their access control system." Open Options also has technology partnerships with other elevator manufacturers thyssenkrupp, KONE, and Otis.
Open Options, a provider of open platform access control solutions, and OnSSI, a provider of video management solutions, have expanded their existing technology partnership to provide a two-way integration between the Ocularis and DNA Fusion applications, allowing access events to be shown in the VMS client. DNA Fusion Open Options has supported an integration with OnSSI for several years that allows DNA Fusion users the ability to pull up live and recorded video based on access events, utilise video tool tips from the camera tree, view video graphics on maps, and handle PTZ camera controls all through the DNA Fusion interface. With OnSSI’s Ocularis version 5.4 VMS solution, users now have the option to view and manage DNA Fusion events through the software’s event manager. Events are simply filtered through a proxy configurator where the operator can select specific events to be surfaced in the Ocularis interface. Additional features of the integration include the option to bundle events for streamlined alert actions, associate cameras to certain types of events, export a video clip and send as an attachment via email, and various other improvements for an enhanced customer experience. Combining access control and video “This integration between Ocularis and DNA Fusion provides users with the ability to easily combine access control and video into a powerful, effective, and intelligent solution that increases both security and situational awareness,” said Mulli Diamant, VP of International Business Development, OnSSI. “Because Ocularis and DNA Fusion are both built on open architecture platforms, this integrated solution is capable of delivering more robust intelligence across multiple platforms.” “The introduction of this new functionality by OnSSI has allowed Open Options a simple yet powerful way to deliver our access control events and system data into the Ocularis interface. This expanded integration benefits the end user by giving them a choice in where they can monitor and manage their unified security system,” said Brent Doherty, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Open Options.
Open Options, an industry leader in open platform access control solutions, has announced that DNA Fusion access control software and the SSP-D2 intelligent controller are now registered on the United States General Services Administration (GSA) Approval list (APL #10075) under the PACS Infrastructure category. Eligible for federal purchasers The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201-2 notified Open Options that both DNA Fusion and the SSP-D2 intelligent controller have been successfully tested against a rigorous, comprehensive set of functional requirements derived from government-wide specifications, said Open Options Vice President of Operations Roscoe Coffman. Testing included positive and negative test cases, and threat vectors. “Open Options works to meet or exceed industry standards in our product offerings and we’re very pleased that we have now added GSA approval to our growing list of industry and government certifications,” said Coffman. Open Options has also achieved certification with Met Labs for Canadian ULC S319-05 and United States UL-294. The GSA APL approval means that Open Options DNA Fusion and the SSP-D2 intelligent controller are now available to all federal agencies for procurement. GSA provides centralised procurement for the federal government, offering billions of dollars' worth of products, services, and facilities that federal agencies need to serve the public. GSA’s acquisition solutions supply federal purchasers with cost-effective high-quality products and services from commercial vendors. Expansion into government market “The addition of both DNA Fusion and the SSP-D2 intelligent controller to the GSA APL is a win for government agencies needing a technologically-advanced yet affordable access control solution,” said Open Options Vice President of Marketing Brent Doherty. “We are excited to be expanding into the government market with our FIPS 201-2 solution and proud to offer agencies a choice when it comes to open platform access control.” Open Options’ DNA Fusion is an open platform access control software with mobile, web, and ID applications for use in large, multi-facility implementations as well as small deployments. DNA Fusion allows users the ability to monitor several systems through a common interface including audio and IP video recording. Designed with 100% InfoReady architecture, information is always right at the fingertips. The Open Options SSP-D2 is a native IP-ready intelligent controller with a built-in reader interface module allowing control of two doors right off the board and a total of 64 using additional reader and/or IO modules.
