A federal jury has ruled that Tyco Integrated Systems is not liable for a $60 million theft of prescription drugs six years ago from an Eli Lilly pharmaceutical warehouse in Enfield, Connecticut.
The lawsuit alleged that the burglary plot surrounding the heist involved access to confidential information about security weaknesses at the warehouse (which Tyco should have protected). However, the jury in Miami ruled in favour of Tyco Integrated Systems, formerly known as ADT Security Services and based in Boca Raton, Florida.
Eli Lilly’s insurer, National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, had filed the lawsuit after paying $42 million in claims.
