QNAP® Systems, Inc. recently announced that from the release of QTS 4.2, support for QGet utility (for Windows, Mac and Linux OS) will be discontinued due to the improved Download Station in QTS 4.2 incorporating its features. After the release of QTS 4.2, QGet will no longer be supported, and maintenance and update services for QGet will also be discontinued.

“QTS 4.2 has greatly levelled up the performance and abilities of Download Station, making download management much easier. As its features are now included in Download Station, we have decided to discontinue QGet in order to dedicate more resources to improving future versions of QTS and Download Station. We hope that users can try out the new Download Station and experience for themselves why it is the best way to perform their download tasks” said Dylan Lin, product manager of QNAP.

Download Station in QTS 4.2 has been greatly improved with higher performance and greater usability. Download tasks can be added by directly copying download links, and BT files can be easily dragged-and-dropped to Download Station. In addition, Download Station features group sharing, enabling users to share the service with others.
