Northwave Cyber Security has announced a transformation in its leadership framework as CEO Steven Dondorp transitions the daily management duties after over two decades at the helm of the company's operations.
Dondorp will continue in his role as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board, concentrating on strategic guidance and governance while retaining ownership responsibilities. The day-to-day operations will now be overseen by an enhanced executive leadership team comprising the President, CFO, and COO. Petra Oldengarm, President; Sander Roosendaal, CFO, who were already board members, have been joined by COO Kevin Jonkers to further bolster operational leadership.

Within this new structure, duties previously handled by the CEO will be divided among the executive team members:
- President – responsible for business strategy and routine leadership
- COO – manages operational execution of daily business
- CFO – oversees governance and risk management

Petra Oldengarm, who took the role of President, and Kevin Jonkers, the new COO since September and August 2025 respectively, will engage with clients, partners, and the wider cyber security sector on behalf of Northwave. Steven Dondorp highlights that this change signifies the strong leadership within the organisation, stating: “Over the past two decades, Northwave has grown into a trusted cyber security partner for organisations in Europe. That success is the result of the exceptional people we have built this company with.”
He continued, “I have worked closely with Petra and Kevin for many years. They bring a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to making our digital world safer. Moving forward, President Petra Oldengarm and COO Kevin Jonkers will serve as the primary liaisons for external stakeholders and media interactions.
