Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc. has announced the deployment of its Evolv Express® weapons detection systems across all entrances at T-Mobile Park for the 2025 Opening Day of Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners.

This initiative marks a significant step in the collaboration between Evolv and the Mariners, having initially commenced with a partial deployment of the Express systems in September 2024.

As part of this initiative, Evolv has been titled the "Preferred Fan Security Screening Provider of the Seattle Mariners."

Deployment at T-Mobile park

Positioned near downtown Seattle, T-Mobile Park is among the largest Major League venues, accommodating 47,368 spectators. Opened in 1999, the stadium has not only hosted Mariners games but also notable events such as the NHL Winter Classic and WrestleMania XIX.

The Mariners represent Evolv’s twelfth professional baseball client, joining the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and others. This marks Evolv’s inaugural partnership with a professional sports team in Washington State, further extending their presence in the Pacific Northwest which includes the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, alongside 20 schools and hospitals.

Enhancing fan experience

The initial deployment improved fan entry while maintaining securityTrevor Gooby, Mariners Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded relationship with Evolv. He highlighted the positive impact of the initial deployment on fan experience, enhancing entry processes without compromising security.

"Our initial deployment last season demonstrated how Express can improve the fan experience by speeding up the entry process, without compromising on security. As we continue our efforts to make T-Mobile Park the most fan-friendly venue in sports, implementing this technology ballpark-wide was a natural fit,” said Gooby.

A growing customer base

John Baier, Evolv’s Vice President of Sports & Entertainment, conveyed his gratitude and anticipation for the upcoming season. He noted, "We’re again gratified and humbled to be entrusted with such an important role in the gameday experiences for Mariners fans. With a full dozen pro baseball teams now on our growing sports and entertainment customer list, we’re excited for the season that lies ahead. We wish all the best to the Mariners and our other Big League baseball customers.

The Seattle Mariners are set to open their 2025 season at T-Mobile Park on March 27, hosting the Athletics. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm PT.
