Visualisation specialist Barco is proud to announce its new NSL-5521 display cube for video walls and its stand-alone LDX series for control room applications. The new displays feature LCD technology with LED backlighting to produce brighter images and a wider color gamut, while providing a smart and space-saving design. The new LED backlit LCD displays was showcased for the first time at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), from 1 to 3 February 2011.

Barco's new range of LED backlit, professional-grade LCD displays combines the benefits of liquid crystal technology (such as low maintenance costs), with energy-efficient LED backlights, resulting in a highly reliable and eco-friendly LCD display offering. Because LED backlights produce less heat than traditional CCFL lamps, Barco's new LCD displays reduce image burn-in and have a longer panel life. Moreover, LED backlights do not emit Infrared radiation which induces coloration in the LCD filters and polarisers. This makes the new NSL and LDX displays perfectly suited for long-term usage.

The narrowest bezel on the market

Barco's previous narrow-bezel LCD display offering (NSL-4601) for video wall applications was an industry first. With the launch of the NSL-5521, a 55" full HD LED-powered display cube, Barco re-establishes its pioneering position. The new NSL uses durable RGB LED lights positioned directly behind the LCD panel and has the narrowest bezel on the market (5.6 mm pixel-to-pixel on adjacent displays), resulting in excellent tiled visual performance. The NSL-5521 features a 3000:1 contrast ratio, full HD resolution and a maximum brightness level of 700 cd/m². The display's solid design, professional-grade LCD panel and robust electronics ensure reliable performance for long-term operation.

Space-saving stand-alone display

The new LDX series is based on E-LED (Edge LED) technology, which means that the LEDs are positioned around the outer rim of the screen. By using this technology, the LDX displays have a very thin and space-saving design. With a 178° viewing angle, a 4000:1 contrast ratio and versatile input connectivity, the new LDX series offers an alternative or complementary stand-alone visualisation solution for modern control rooms. Available with screen sizes of 46" and 55" in full HD, the LDX series offers an ergonomic viewing experience and a uniform color display from center to edge.

The complete range of LED backlit LCD displays is delivered with Barco Wall Control Manager software, allowing simple and systematical video wall management and configuration. Combined with Barco's CMS control room management software, information can be displayed in the most efficient and transparent way for enhanced decision-making. Combining an intelligent design with the best image quality in terms of resolution, brightness and viewing angle, these displays offer the most ergonomic and reliable display solution for control rooms.
