The camera’s anti-water design meets IP66 weatherproof protection grade ensuring no fog and condensation
Hikvision designed its outdoor surveillance systems to include several ventilating films at the rear of the device

A known problem that is inherent in the surveillance system world is the unfortunate need to overcome the damage caused by mist that serves to impede video surveillance.

How is mist created?

At nighttime, when the environment temperature drops, and infrared cameras (in the course of their work) force a rise in the camera’s internal temperature; this leads to a huge temperature difference between the inside and outside of a camera - and thus, forming mist or moisture.

What is the damage of mist issue?

If there is any mist or water vapour inside or outside of the lens cover, it often fogs over the lens, and directly affecting the monitoring results. Additionally, it can freeze and cause damage, which results in camera malfunction or rendering the camera as unusable.

Hikvision’s approach to solve the problem

To avoid this moisture issue, Hikvision has specifically designed its outdoor surveillance camera models to include several ventilating films at the rear of the device to keep a balanced temperature level between both internal and external camera parts. On top of this, these cameras anti-water design successfully meets IP66 weatherproof protection grade – doubly ensuring no fog and no condensation!
