Brivo Systems LLC, leader in cloud applications for security management, announced that Brivo Labs has introduced its first market offering, OKDoor. Brivo Labs is a business unit of Brivo Systems bringing new areas of innovation to the security industry in the form of social identity, mobile applications and trust networks. Using social identities, Brivo Labs enhances the everyday experiences of entering physical places with products and services that allow people to interact with the physical world.

To showcase their leadership in the emerging Social Access Management (SAM) market, the company recently unveiled OKDoor, a Glassware application that integrates with Brivo Labs’ SAM API to provide physical access control with Google Glass. Brivo Labs created OKDoor to highlight one of the many capabilities of their SAM API. OKDoor serves as one of the first integrations that connects Google Glass to physical access management.

“We are excited to reinforce our leadership position in the Social Access Management space and show innovative examples of how we merge current technologies with traditional security and access control,” said Lee Odess, VP of Marketing, Brivo Systems. “OKDoor is a prime example of the convergence of these two areas.”

How OKDoor works

OKDoor provides notification to a person inside a building that someone outside needs to gain access. First, an outdoor camera pushes a snapshot of the individual to the Google Glass wearer. The wearer is then presented with the ability to allow or deny entry. The OKDoor user can remotely unlock the door and allow the visitor inside. Watch the OKDoor video and visit brivolabs.com to find out more.

Brivo Labs’ SAM API can authenticate visitors and associate several forms of secure credentials to access physical devices. Social authentication and provisioning of access is implemented by connecting with leading social network platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Life360. SAM also provides developers with the resources to perform data analysis, manage devices, authorise schedules, get access to hosted IP video and offer real time device control with remote automation.
