Austrian utility company Donaukraftwerk has recently upgraded its access control system to state-of-the-art performance. Existing terminals at the hydroelectric power plants in Aschach, Ottensheim, Wallsee, Ybbs, Altenwörth and Greifenstein have been extended by installing 400 access control readers based on the contactless LEGIC technology. The access authorisations of around 1000 Donaukraftwerk employees are now managed by a total of 500 GAT 2500 terminals and GANTNER organisational software.

Electronic access control is linked to the GEMOS control panel via an OPC interface. This ensures a consistent overview across individual locations and ensures an advanced security and control in power stations along the Danube.
