Rachelle Loyear, who serves as vice president of integrated security solutions at Allied Universal®, has launched her third book aimed at professionals in the security sector.
The book acts as a comprehensive guide on enterprise security risk assessment and strategy, targeting corporate security leaders, risk professionals, and business executives who are tasked with developing robust, security-aligned programs in an ever-changing threat environment.
Results-driven outcomes in security management
Addressing the evolving role of security leaders in organisations, Loyear emphasised the dual expectations these professionals face. "Security leaders are now expected to contribute to strategic business decisions while still being able to respond effectively to incidents," Loyear said. "This book is intended to help them do both—providing a practical approach to communicating risk and making informed security investment decisions that align with organizational priorities."
Leveraging her extensive experience, Loyear presents a structured approach called Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) within the book. This method focuses on three pivotal questions: determining what assets require protection, identifying threats, and implementing protection measures that strike a balance between efficacy and efficiency.
By incorporating the effects-based security model into ESRM, the book aims to connect strategic planning with operational execution, thus ensuring that security strategies produce significant, results-driven outcomes.
