  • BlackFog launches ADX Vision for secure AI and data exfiltration protection.
  • 49% of employees use unsanctioned AI tools, raising data privacy concerns.
  • ADX Vision provides real-time governance, blocking shadow AI activity without productivity loss.

BlackFog has announced the launch of its latest AI-based security solution, ADX Vision, a tool developed to enhance protection against data exfiltration.

This innovative solution is engineered to secure all endpoints and interactions with large language models (LLMs), providing organisations with the necessary visibility and control for secure AI management. By operating on individual devices, ADX Vision identifies unauthorised AI activity, halts unauthorised data transfers instantaneously, and applies governance policies automatically, all while maintaining productivity.

Increasing Regulatory Challenges

The introduction of ADX Vision aligns with the increasing adoption of AI tools by organisations aiming to foster innovation, as employees turn to LLMs to enhance their efficiency.

The widespread utilisation of unsanctioned AI applications has created covert avenues for data exfiltration, risking the exposure of intellectual property and confidential information, as well as attracting greater regulatory scrutiny. AI systems capable of processing, storing, and analysing enterprise data without formal security measures have made shadow AI a crucial yet often overlooked factor in data loss.

Potential Data Privacy Risks

The survey also points to significant knowledge gaps regarding data privacy

A comprehensive survey conducted by BlackFog involving 2,000 employees highlights the extent of this issue. Nearly half of the participants (49%) admitted to using AI applications not approved by their employers. The survey also points to significant knowledge gaps regarding data privacy, with only 53% of employees aware of how their data is stored, analysed, or preserved when entered into AI tools.

Despite this, 71% of respondents perceive the productivity advantages of utilising unapproved AI tools at work to be of greater importance than potential data privacy risks. Dr Darren Williams, CEO and Founder of BlackFog, remarked, “As AI adoption accelerates, so does the risk of data loss through unmonitored tools. This research highlights the extent of that risk and the critical need for organisations to protect the data flowing through AI systems.”

Focus on Data Security

Emphasising BlackFog's commitment to data security, Dr Williams added, “Preventing data exfiltration has been at the core of our mission from day one, and we’ve consistently adapted our technology to stay ahead of emerging threats. ADX Vision is the next step in that journey, offering unmatched visibility into shadow AI activity so organisations can protect their data with confidence.”

ADX Vision offers a consolidated view across organisational networks, ensuring that sensitive information remains secure. Currently available for Windows, the solution will extend its support to macOS and Linux in early 2026.
