The Technology Park Písek is a science and technology centre built inside the Czech Republic’s former Žižkov barracks, in South Bohemia. It opened in autumn 2013, after a total investment at the site of 450 million CZK (Czech Koruna).

The Technology Park operates around the clock, 7 days a week. It will be home to multiple businesses in the technology sector, so access control needs to be reliable and security needs to be watertight. Low-security solutions such as mechanical keys were not an option for such an important investment.

Technology Park Písek will house around 300 employees working for a number of small companies who use the site: security also needs to be flexible and able to quickly adapt to regular changes in site personnel.

Around 140 Aperio® E100 escutcheons from ASSA ABLOY have been installed at the site. Each is linked wirelessly to the electronic access control system from ABBAS. Employees and other staff based at Technology Park Písek open doors using RFID technology, in this case with iCLASS® from HID Global compatible smart cards.

Deployment was straightforward and wire-free, and can easily be extended should needs at the site change. Aperio® online solutions enable facilities managers at the site to conduct real-time security and access audits and to issue or revoke access rights instantly.
