Net2 plus control units take advantage of an existing Ethernet network to communicate with the Net2 server PC. This replaces installing a dedicated data cable and reduces installation times greatly. Net2 plus control units are able to support a RS485 daisy chain of Net2 classic control units. Net2 nano uses secure wireless technology to communicate with the main server PC via either a Net2Air USB or Net2Air Ethernet Bridge. The USB Bridge connects directly to the server PC and has a wireless range of up to 30m (typically 10m), perfect for smaller access controlled sites. The Ethernet Bridge has the same wireless range but can extend the capability of Net2 nano via existing LAN/WAN Ethernet ports. The use of Net2 nano control units also reduces installation times. A combination of the new additions and Net2 classic control units can be used around a site. This means that installers can now choose the most convenient way to secure each door. Easyprox compact, the Long range reader and the Energy saving reader were also on display at IFSEC ‘08. Easyprox compact is an all-in-one battery powered lock and access control system that's perfect for low security internal doors. The Long range reader, designed specifically for car park access, means that drivers with hands free tokens can open car park barriers from the comfort of their cars. The Energy saving reader is designed to minimise energy waste. Its use allows anything electrical such as lights and air conditioning to be switched on or off using an authorised proximity card.
