Declare is a ‘nutrition label’ for products, a clear and informative method to disclose ingredients ASSA ABLOY announced that it has released Declare documentation for its Adams Rite MS1850S Series MS (maximum security) deadbolts, HES 1006 and 9600 Series electric strikes, the Securitron M32 and M62 Magnalocks, and Securitron’s AQD6 Series of Switching Power Supplies. ASSA ABLOY is the only company to release Declare labels in the power supply, maglock, electric strike and deadbolt categories, and has the second most Declare labels of any manufacturer in the building industry. Declare labels Declare is a ‘nutrition label’ for products, a clear and informative method to disclose ingredients. Declare is transforming the building materials marketplace through transparency and open communication. For manufacturers, Declare offers an expanded point-of-entry into the world’s most ground-breaking restorative projects and a new platform to connect with consumers. “These ‘nutrition labels’ enable us to make better decisions about the materials that go into our products,” said Scott Baker, President, ASSA ABLOY EMS & OEM Group. “Plus, LEED v4 just launched last week, and our work in transparency heavily contributes to it.” Environmental Product Declaration Securitron also announced the release of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its EcoPower Power Supply, which documents the cradle-to-grave life cycle of the highly efficient power supply and how it affects the environment. Baker continued, “This is a company-wide commitment to transparency, making everything we manufacture more sustainable. Everyone at ASSA ABLOY is striving to make our solutions better for the environment and for the people interacting with them.” Save
ASSA ABLOY is pleased to announce that three of its Group brands, Adams Rite, HES and Securitron, have released seven Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the following products: Adams Rite MS1850S Series MS (maximum security) deadbolts, HES 1006 and 9600 Series electric strikes, the Securitron M32 and M62 Magnalocks, and Securitron’s entire AQD6 Series of Switching Power Supplies, with additional designation for the AQD6. ASSA ABLOY is the only company to release EPDs in the power supply, maglock, electric strike and deadbolt categories. Information about product’s environmental impact An important aspect of an EPD is to provide the basis of a fair comparison of products by their environmental performance. An EPD tells the lifecycle story of a product in a single, written report, focusing on information about a product’s environmental impact, such as global warming, ozone depletion, water pollution, ozone creation, and greenhouse gas emissions and helps to promote transparency regarding product development. “All of us at ASSA ABLOY are incredibly proud of the accomplishment represented by these seven EPDs,” said Scott Baker, President, ASSA ABLOY EMS & OEM Group. “We invest deeply in every single product we develop in order to provide our customers with an unprecedented level of value. Today, the designations we’ve announced make the deadbolts, electric strikes and Magnalocks the clear and optimal choice for new construction. These products will contribute to earning points toward LEED certifications today and will help meet the requirements for green building codes in the future.” The declarations announced today were conferred by two organisations, The Institute Construction and Environment (IBU) and UL Environmental (ULE). IBU is an industry-wide association with an international focus that runs programs to procure product declarations. Environmental product labels were created in collaboration with construction and environment authorities in Germany and in accordance with international standardisation processes. ULE is a business unit of Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and a premier global independent safety science company. With a focus on the Americas, ULE develops EPDs that are compliant with ISO-14025, an environmental management tool that provides labeling that is intended to educate consumers about the environmental character of a product or service.
Securitron®, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, is announcing availability of the AQE Series of power supplies focused on Power over Ethernet (PoE). The product line includes Injectors, Extractors and Rack Mount Injectors. Bringing data and power together, the AQE15 and AQE30 are single port PoE MidSpan Injectors designed to power PoE devices such as PoE access control door controllers, DC IP cameras and other PoE equipment from a non-PoE source. These injectors operate from low voltage 24 VAC/24V DC input power, include visual diagnostics via onboard LED, and provide 15W (IEEE 802.3af) or 30W (802.3at) output power. Like the AQE15 and AQE30, the AQE30E is designed for access control and security applications. It is a single port PoE MidSpan Extractor that provides up to 25W of 12VDC output power and a data connection to a non-PoE device. This midspan extractor is used to power door controllers, access control devices and DC IP and PTZ cameras. It also includes onboard LED for visual diagnostics, and is selectable for 13W or 25W output. For remote manageability, the AQE250R and AQE500R are the perfect solution for a centralised system. These 16 port, PoE Rack Mounted Injectors power up to 32W per port with 10/100/1000 Base-T Gigabit support. They provide power and data to access control, door locks, PTZ cameras, video and other PoE devices. Offering remote power monitoring and online management capability, the rack mounted injectors enable remote shut down of individual ports or all ports simultaneously without the need to be onsite. The AQE250R and AQE500R also include a 48V battery charger for cost effective back-up power, identifies and protects non-PoE equipment, and provides protection from over temperature, overvoltage, overcurrent and short-circuiting. “As PoE access control solutions continue to permeate the market, efficient power solutions must be ready to guarantee effective operation,” said Scott Baker, President of ASSA ABLOY EMS&OEM Group. “These new injectors and extractors further establish Securitron as a leader in power products and as the most reliable and feature rich choice.”
