The programme includes training, digital tools, and CPD certified seminars to help specifiers provide enhanced service to their customers Honeywell recently launched the Security Specifier Programme designed to help specifiers provide an enhanced service to their customers. With security consultants, end-users and installers looking for increased support and guidance, the new programme provides key digital tools and training that add value to their services. The Honeywell Security Specifier Programme benefits include: Training sessions so that they can readily advise customers on design, ordering and installation of integrated security solutions; Access to a dedicated online portal where they can view key marketing tools and production information, including the latest product architect and engineering specifications and Honeywell City, an interactive website showcasing the application of security technologies in homes, businesses, commercial sites and critical infrastructure; Access to a powerful new online design tool to help them select the right security technologies and solutions needed for each individual solution design situation. This advanced tool enables security consultants, end-users and installers to quickly and accurately identify the most appropriate solution for their project, cutting down on time spent researching and identifying solutions; Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certified seminars programme that can also be delivered as ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions at specifiers’ premises. As a member of CPD, Honeywell recognises this certification as the industry’s principal education forum and is pleased to announce an initial suite of CPD certified modules based on the fundamentals of IP Video, Access Control and Intruder Detection Systems. “As a leader in integrated security solutions, Honeywell has a unique understanding of specifiers’ needs and is well-placed to provide them with the highest level of support,” commented Daniel Wan, Channel Marketing Manager UK and Ireland. “With extensive knowledge and experience in security, our aim is to help specifiers design the most appropriate solutions for their clients’ needs.” The Honeywell Specifier Programme is open to all security specifiers.
Honeywell recently announced a technology upgrade to its NetAXS-123 web-based modular access control system to make it easier for small to mid-size businesses to secure their doors. Ethernet virtual loop (EVL) technology uses a single IP address to talk to multiple control panels, making installation fast and simple. This simpler installation process, which allows installers use their customers’ existing local area networks (LAN) with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), eliminates the requirement to run a dedicated wire loop to each control panel providing added cost benefits to the end user. “Running wire takes time and money, so being able to use an existing LAN greatly reduces time and costs for both the installer and the end-user,” said Daniel Wan, UK Channel Marketing Director. NetAXS-123 control panels drive down costs by eliminating the need for multiple cables to be installed and run from a distant location. The new control panels provide a streamlined solution allowing cables to be installed just a few feet from the control panel for the lock, reader, egress and door contact. This results in lower installation costs and faster install times. With multiple enclosure options available, businesses are able to select features and capabilities that best suit their business needs. NetAXS-123 also offers the scalability to easily and affordably expand the system one door at a time allowing businesses to upgrade their access control system and add additional features as and when required. Through EVL and the LAN, there is no longer a need to configure each NetAXS-123 control panel individually. Instead the control panels are automatically discovered and linked together. As a result, multiple NetAXS-123 panels can be connected seamlessly and updates can be issued automatically to the entire system, such as access card additions and rule changes providing business with a simpler security system.
Security installers have a much wider range of options for commercial video surveillance installations with the addition of 14 new HD and Mega Pixel IP models to Honeywell’s line of equIP® Series cameras. The equIP Series S is a family of IP-ready products – including box cameras, IR indoor domes and rugged domes – that integrate with Honeywell and third-party NVRs for complete video management. The new cameras deliver full HD video (up to 25 fps) with 720p, 1080p, 3MP or 5MP resolution for applications from small retail outlets all the way up to large systems for city centre surveillance. All of the cameras feature on-board micro SD card storage to help prevent video loss by storing locally when communication to the NVR or video service is off-line. The equIP Series S features P-Iris that enables sharper images with better clarity and contrast by optimising the depth of field and sensitivity most suited to any application. “Expanding our portfolio allows the equIP Series to truly offer an IP video solution for every installation,” said Daniel Wan, Channel Marketing Manager UK/I, Honeywell Security Group. “Together with our current range, the new equIP series S models are ONVIF Profile S compatible, providing open, broad, third-party integration.” The new cameras enhance Honeywell’s growing line of IP video technologies, allowing installers to provide a complete end-to-end solution. Other IP offerings include the company’s MAXPRO® portfolio of cloud-hosted services, NVRs and hybrid recording devices, as well as its flagship video management system and encoders. Adding the equIP Series S cameras to the line gives integrators greater flexibility when designing IP video systems that can fit a range of budgets and installations in almost any business segment. Adding to the existing 1080p HDZ, Honeywell is introducing VGA PTZ models to the family to satisfy customers’ everyday end-to-end needs. The standard definition provides excellent quality video with 30X and 36X image stabilisation options. The HDZ standard definition PTZ line-up reuses the flexible mounting options available on the existing HD lineup to meet a broad variety of applications.
