IndigoVision video technology helps Rio Tinto to control its trucks all from the safety of a control base 1,500 kilometers away
IndigoVision's video technology allows Rio Tinto to control over 200 driverless trucks to move 130 million tons of material

When it comes to safety, mining is still seen as one the riskiest industries in the world. Mining giant Rio Tinto recently made the news with its innovative technology approach, making mining safer and more efficient.

Using IndigoVision’s video technology, Rio Tinto can now control over 200 driverless trucks to move 130 million tons of material, the equivalent of 57 trips around the equator, all from the safety of a control base 1,500 KM / 932 miles away.

With only 0.5% of the world’s fleet of 40,500 mining trucks driverless, there is still huge potential for other mining organisations to follow Rio Tinto’s example.
