Vehicle tracking with ANPR solutions from NDI-RS is the topic of discussion for Home Secretary
(L to R) Adrian Cadd of NDI, Home Secretary Theresa May and Richard King of NDI discussing ANPR solutions
Home Secretary Theresa May has visited the offices of NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS), the leading UK-based designer and manufacturer of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) solutions. During the visit, which took place on Monday 23rd August, she discussed a wide range of security issues relating to the use of ANPR and its role in increasing national security and cutting crime both in the UK and in major export markets. ANPR will be a ‘must have' solution to provide additional protection at major public events including the forthcoming 2012 London Olympics.

The Home Secretary is including ANPR in the review of CCTV regulation and met with Adrian Cadd, Head of Sales and Marketing at NDI-RS, to discuss the leading role that the company is taking in the development of new, innovative solutions designed for use by security forces around the world. NDI-RS has a track record of high profile ANPR installations around the world including the "London ANPR Ring of Steel" and the "Manchester ANPR Ring of Steel".

During the visit, Theresa May participated in demonstrations of some of the latest systems featuring vehicles from some of the UK's leading police forces. She also saw the firm's new demonstration vehicle which can be used by new and existing clients to evaluate covert and overt installations in real world applications. Of particular interest was the ST200, NDI-RS's new generation rapid deployment ANPR system that can be used without extensive specialist training and can simultaneously process up to two lanes of high speed, high density traffic as well as being networkable to provide a ‘ring of steel' capability.

According to Adrian Cadd of NDI-RS: "We were pleased that the Home Secretary made time to visit our offices to see for herself how UK-based companies such as NDI-RS are leading the world in the development and manufacture of rapid deployment ANPR technologies that will have a real impact on enhancing security in a wide range of covert and overt operations."
