Speed Identity AB supplies market leading biometric solutions for data capture
Speed Identity supplies biometric capture equipment for e-passports to the Lithuanian passport authority
Speed Identity has, together with the Lithuanian company UAB ATEA, received a prestigious order to supply biometric capture equipment for e-passports to the Lithuanian passport authority. The order consists of the Speed Capture Station as well as the mobile unit Speed Capture Mobile.

Delivery of the products was started in April and completed in June 2009.

"This order strengthens our position in the e-passport market. To win a tender of this magnitude is a powerful recognition of our advanced product solutions for biometric capture equipment for e-passports", says Magnus Svenningson, CEO of Speed Identity.

After an extensive evaluation of the market's technical solutions of today, the Lithuanian authority chose the tried and tested biometric capture solutions from Speed Identity. The solution has been used by Swedish Police Board and Swedish Migration Board for several years, both for the purpose of capturing biometric data such as facial pictures, finger prints and digital signatures. The data is used for the production of passports and migration documents.

The Lithuanian e-passports contain quality secured facial images and finger prints according to EU Council Regulation (EC) No 2252/2004. Migration documents correspond to EU decision 2004/512/EC and EU-Vis (Visa Information System).

Speed Identity's system integrator partner UAB ATEA is very satisfied with the cooperation.

"The efficiency of our partner Speed Identity makes it very easy to satisfy the needs of our customers", says Rimas Kvaselis, Project Manager at UAB ATEA. "The tight schedule to get these systems up running was tough but we and Speed Identity made it all the way".
