Altronix has unveiled the ReServ24B, an automatic 24VDC transfer switch that features a rapid battery charging capability. This device is designed to ensure that power is consistently maintained for critical security applications, even during outages. The ReServ24B's ability to maintain uninterrupted power through seamless switching is expected to enhance system resilience significantly.
The ReServ24B addresses scenarios where constant power is not reliably available, whether due to power switching issues or the need for extended battery charging. It operates by supporting two 24VDC power supplies; in the event of a power disruption, it swiftly switches to a secondary power source to maintain operations without interruptions. Once the primary power source is re-established, the device automatically reallocates connected devices back to it while ensuring rapid recharge of SLA or LiFePO4 backup batteries.

Integration of the ReServ24B into new or pre-existing security and access control systems is straightforward, contributing to optimised battery backup and increased system resilience.
The device also benefits from the inclusion of the Altronix LINQ™ Network Management Interface. This feature facilitates remote monitoring, control, and reporting through the Altronix LINQ2 network communication module.
"Power disruptions shouldn't compromise a facility's safety or stop daily operations," stated Ronnie Pennington, Director of Sales for the Americas at Altronix. "The ReServ24B gives integrators an easy-to-deploy solution while providing facility managers and end users peace of mind that their access control and security systems will remain online and recover quickly."
