Delta DSC720 1 metre bollards stop 66.7 Kg flatbed truck impacting at 80 kph with zero penetration
Product Profile
A crash test of Delta Scientific's new DSC720-1M bollards, created to stop taller trucks such as those found in Europe and the Mideast from tumbling over anti-terrorist crash-proof bollards, stopped a 15,000 pound (66.7 Km) flatbed truck impacting at 50 miles per hour (80 kph) with a -0.5 meter penetration of the vehicle, creating an M50, P1 ASTM rating. The bollards caused severe damage to the engine and drive train.
This is the type of stopping power customers want for ASTM 50 and K12 rated bollards. Importantly, these taller bollards provide the same type of stopping power as their predecessor, the DSC720, which is installed throughout the world.
DSC720 bollards are deployed at U.S. locales, including Federal buildings and Department of Defense installations, as well as at various nations’ embassies and high profile, high-risk facilities, such as Buckingham Palace and the Singapore Parliament, throughout the world.
The new bollards feature a variety of power options including Delta’s hydraulic power unit (HPU), all-weather pneumatic, electro-mechanical, manual or fixed post.
The DSC720-1M’s controls feature touch screen panels, data logging and Cat 5 cable connections with options of control via a closed network, the Internet, fibre optic or remote operation. Decorative castings and brushed stainless steel sleeves are standard options.

The DSC550 was tested to the new ASTM F2656-20 standard which measures the penetration level from the foremost edge of the barrier versus the back-side of the barrier like the previous standard. This can provide a difference of (1.52 m.) and makes the negative penetration level even more impressive. Design and features The DSC550 open frame barrier features a shallow foundation of only 24 inches (61 cm). The open-frame design additionally provides a unique counter-balance design with no spring...
