Siqura Solutions Training

If only we’d known that then

How many times do you wish you’d been better informed before making a decision? Whether it’s on what to make for dinner or which video analytics algorithms are best for your company’s surveillance situation, we all generally only appreciate knowledge when we notice the lack of it, often after having spent money on the wrong things.

The Siqura Solutions Seminar provides an overview of the surveillance industry as a whole and discusses the current trends and new technologies. After this course, you will be well able to make the best decisions for your specific video network application from day one.

This training focuses on Siqura solutions, products, and the latest technology trends. It requires a basic knowledge of IP networks and surveillance systems and is intended for end users, consultants, and partners. This training is limited to 16 participants.

Market focus:

Indoor or outdoor? Routers or switches? Scheduled monitoring or 24-hour surveillance? What are the regional certification requirements? These are just a few of the questions you start to ask yourself when designing a video surveillance system. You quickly realize that every application is unique. Siqura creates solutions for specific markets to make it easier to tailor network components and the overall system for a particular purpose. This part of the Siqura Solutions Seminar outlines which markets we cater to and some associated projects we have deployed.

Cameras:

From analog standard definition box-style units to high resolution IP cameras equipped with video analytics and the latest compression techniques, you are pretty much guaranteed to find exactly what you’re looking for in a camera. But it’s not always easy. Cameras are getting increasingly complicated and it can be difficult to decide which cameras you need to meet your specific project requirements. This presentation gives you a thorough explanation of the kinds of cameras that are currently available and what they can do. Additionally, the pros and cons of various accessories for facilitating camera installation, maintenance, and performance are discussed.

Management and recording solutions:

Regardless of the size, scope, or purpose of a video surveillance system, every application requires a different set of tools to ensure efficient and effective management. During the course of this presentation, trainers handle the ins and outs of video management, including everything from basic viewing, event-triggered alarms, and a customizable user-interface to video analytics, such as facial and license plate recognition. This presentation also discusses the kinds of hardware and software you need to assist you in storing and searching video material as well as concerns that might arise during system integration. When virtually anything is possible, this training helps you to know what kinds of features you might need so you can make the right decisions from the start and supervise your system with confidence.

Support and services:

Siqura provides a wide range of support and services. In addition to trainings, an expert support line, and consulting services, Siqura also assists customers in the design and deployment of their video surveillance systems. This involves everything from creating the network outline and assisting in configuration and installation to setting up a test plan and tailoring products to specific project requirements. This presentation goes over the various aspects of our support and services, informing you of what you can expect from Siqura and assuring you of our absolute commitment to the success of your system.

Technical Training

This training focuses on Siqura solutions, products, and the latest technology trends. It is intended for end users, consultants, and partner who like to get a full overview of how Siqura Solutions provide businesses and organisations with the highest levels of efficiency and flexibility.

Video networking technologies today can do almost anything and each one is full of potential for creating ever more efficient and effective system. But as the saying goes, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Learn how to unleash the possibilities of your surveillance system with the Siqura Technical Training. Every topic and practical exercise on this course focuses on a specific technology, culminating in an improved overall understanding of video networking.

In this training, you will build your own Siqura video network from scratch, looking to both the network as a whole as well as its various components. With a maximum of just 10 attendees, this is an interactive, hands-on curriculum aimed at sales engineers and project managers and engineers. It requires an intermediate knowledge of IP networks and Siqura solutions, or you must have completed the Siqura Solutions Seminar.

Introduction system integration

How do you balance video quality and latency requirements? What do you need to store around-the-clock, watermarked recordings for three weeks? Which analytics tools should you implement for effective perimeter protection? This in-depth presentation of system components describes how to design various aspects of a video network to meet project requirements.

Cameras

Cameras have come a long way in the past ten years. As IP continues to gain ground, more and more technology is placed in devices at the edge of the network. Everything from pixel processing and compression to video analytics and data management is now being handled inside the camera. This course component gives a comprehensive instruction in these complex units and explains how to select the right camera and settings.

Codecs and compression

Compressing and streaming video material entails complicated calculations, such as those for motion estimation and quantization, and each compression standard carries out these processes differently. Optimizing a surveillance system entails accounting for the details of encoding and decoding. This course covers how these particulars fit into a complete video network.

Video networks: Design and debugging

What connects cameras, software, encoders, and sensors in a video surveillance system? This part of the course gets back to the blueprint of the network. It discusses aspects such as bandwidth, VLAN design, RSTP, segmentation, and multicast, concluding in an array of possibilities for debugging potential issues. After this presentation, you will feel comfortable with the fine points of how various network components connect.

Features, VCA, video quality monitor

Advances in video networking technologies allow operators to concentrate less on watching multiple cameras and more on reacting appropriately to incidents. Video management systems (VMS) can monitor the quality of camera streams and alert operators if something is amiss. Integrated video content analysis (VCA) programs detect unusual occurrences and recognize and classify faces, objects, and license plates, and systems can be customized for specific applications, such as traffic management. In sum, software plays an integral role in video surveillance. This presentation deals with what intelligent software tools can do and provides examples of how they interface with the user.

AID and traffic servers

Automatic incident detection (AID) is a highly specialized form of video analytics and it has become an essential part of traffic management around the world; for example, European Union member states are required to implement AID in tunnels longer than 500 meters. AID detects everything from stopped vehicles and wrong-way drivers to smoke in tunnels or lane occupancy. From an overview of the total system and data management down to the details of camera positioning and user interface, this part of the course offers insight into one of the hottest topics in traffic management today.

Services

Let us do the work and give you the peace of mind that guaranteed system performance affords. Siqura’s specialized sales engineers and expert technical support work with you from the get-go to design and configure a customized solution. We help you reap the benefits of the most current and cutting-edge technologies while still taking advantage of your existing network and equipment. This course component covers the services that Siqura offers with its solutions to ensure steadfast and superior surveillance systems.

Storage demystified

Being able to look back at recorded video is an essential part of surveillance, but integrating it into a network requires taking a close look at a number of issues. This presentation considers throughput capability, storage capacity, and redundancy in relation to the existing infrastructure, database, and system integration. It also looks at performance concerns of the overall recording system and discusses the pros and cons of various network storage architecture options. Ultimately, this part of the course gives you the knowledge and confidence to effectively implement recording in any surveillance system.

OSA – RTSP/API/SDK

The Siqura Open Streaming Architecture (OSA) is based on acknowledged industry standards and allows video streams to be viewed over RTSP. This makes it possible for images to be monitored via handheld devices or through open protocols. Ultimately, OSA provides an effective tool for total system integration. This training covers the ins and outs of this open standard through theory and practical exercises. It also deals with the details of RTSP, the Session Announcement Protocol, and the HTTP API as well as how to configure PTZ, serial data, and event commands to your system. At the end of the day, you have a good idea of how you can efficiently and successfully get various network components to work together.
