The 0928-17 is a factory-encoded active card that includes a lithium battery which enables it to provide hands-free functionality when it is used together with Cotag hands-free readers. When it is used with a Cotag hands-free reader‚ the reading range is up to 1 metre. With Cotag proximity readers‚ the reading range is up to 30 cm. 0928-17 tags are particularly useful in environments where some cardholders are disabled or often have their hands full (i.e. a hospital or warehouse). One of the major advantages of Cotag technology is that active and passive cards can be mixed in the same system to provide ultimate convenience and cost-efficiency. Note: Compared to the 0928-0, the 0928-17 active card is featuring an additional horizontal slot punch and can be used for both portrait and landscape card holding.
