Dahua elaborates on application of H.265 compression standard

Benefits of H.265
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265, is a proposed video compression standard, a successor to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (Advanced Video Coding), currently under joint development by the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) and ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG).
Compared to the current mainstream AVC standard H.264, H.265 is said to be capable of further reducing by 50% the data rate requested for high quality video coding. Bitrate is acclaimed to have around 40% to 50% down at 1080p while rendering superb image quality.
