Bosch Advantage Line of analogue and IP surveillance cameras suits small businesses

Bosch Security Systems is to launch ‘the Advantage Line’ – a new family of analogue and IP CCTV security and surveillance products that brings smaller businesses the quality and reliability that is the hallmark of Bosch technology, but at an affordable price. Available exclusively through Norbain and ProVision in the UK, and SKS in Eire, the new Advantage Line technologies are specifically targeted at companies who provide complete security solutions and/or those that may resell and install security products. Paul Wong, Managing Director of Bosch Security Systems, says that the purchasers are likely to already have a good technical knowledge of Bosch products: “The Advantage Line has been developed with a certain size of business in mind,” he says. “Customers will have already recognised the quality and reliability of our technology, but are challenged by their customers when it comes to the cost,” he says. “By delivering a series of products that have targeted features fit for the application, that are easy to configure and install, and that are available in quantity, we believe we are bringing the best of both worlds to all parties.” Mr Wong says that as well as the products, Bosch will also provide a specific level of dedicated customer support: “We will be working closely with our distribution partners to ensure that the Advantage Line has the high level of support our customers expect,” he adds.

Highest quality IP video images anytime, anywhere
Highest quality IP video images anytime, anywhere

At IFSEC 2014, Bosch Security Systems took visitors on a technology “journey” showcasing the latest innovations in the world of IP video technology.  Two important technologies that were showcased were 4K ultra HD and starlight technology from Bosch. Both technologies support in delivering the highest quality of relevant IP video images anytime, anywhere.  4K ultra HD technology is enabling you to see every detail, everywhere. This unrivalled level of detail significantly enhances safety and security. Users benefit from superior identification capabilities while viewing live footage and when reviewing events, even when fast moving objects and challenging lighting conditions exist. The first product equipped with 4K ultra HD resolution will be DINION IP ultra 8000 MP that will be introduced during the IFSEC show. This product will be the first product available making 4K ultra HD relevant for IP video surveillance applications. It delivers incredible detail for wide-angle applications while reducing bitrates, network strain and storage costs.  In addition, Bosch showed its starlight HD and MP cameras, which capture video in dimly-lit scenes where other cameras fail and provide color images when others switch to monochrome. Even at night, users benefit by seeing details such as color of clothing or vehicles, which aid in the identification of people and objects and can reduce costs associated with added illumination. After the introduction of the popular DINION IP and FLEXIDOME IP families of 720p fixed cameras, Bosch will introduce a five megapixel camera with starlight technology, the DINION IP starlight 8000 MP. All starlight cameras deliver superior light sensitivity, wide dynamic range, high resolution and the ability to capture fast moving objects, making them the ultimate 24/7 camera for IP video surveillance.  Following the expansion of the starlight family and taking into account the increasing demand for security and safety in extreme application areas, more and more cameras are being deployed in outdoor locations where they are at the mercy of nature and the elements. To ensure continuous operation in harsh conditions like rain, snow and fog to high wind gusts and significant vibration, Bosch Security will reveal its new MIC IP 7000 HD family consisting of  a 1080p wide dynamic range and a 720p starlight version. The imaging performance of this new range of PTZ cameras will ensure optimum video surveillance in challenging conditions like harsh sunlight, low light or even in darkness.  Finally, experience the benefits of our Dynamic Transcoding technology. Limited bandwidth makes it impossible to stream HD video on mobile devices whereas Dynamic Transcoding delivers both smooth live video streaming and instant access to HD (1080p) images when needed. It, in combination with the Video Security app, also enables you to access your video streams anytime and control camera movements from anywhere with your mobile device or retrieve correct data instantly via forensic search. With Dynamic Transcoding we focus on 24/7 remote access and control.

Bosch introduces its Starlight IP cameras - the next real breakthrough in HD security
Bosch introduces its Starlight IP cameras - the next real breakthrough in HD security

The Bosch DINION starlight HD 720P and FLEXIDOME starlight HD 720p RD/VR IP cameras are the next real breakthrough in HD security. In poor light these amazing HD cameras deliver a clear colour image where others show only black and white. And in extreme low-light they deliver a black and white image where others show no image at all! Add the Bosch Video Security app and overcome the bandwidth barrier so you can view HD images from anywhere. Extraordinary low light sensitivity With their high sensitivity in both colour (0.017 lux) and monochrome modes (0.0057 lux), the HD cameras work with minimal ambient light, delivering clear images in a multitude of applications, even where poor lighting is the principle challenge. The 60 fps frame rate helps capture fast-moving objects in applications such as traffic and casinos. Usable images around the clock The starlight IP cameras come with Content Based Imaging Technology (CBIT). This Bosch innovation intelligently combines information from the sensor, image pipe, encoder and Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) to dynamically optimise the image for every scene. Bosch CBIT-enabled cameras feature two special modes: intelligent Auto Exposure (iAE), which ensures the optimal image of important objects and intelligent Noise Reduction Technology (iDNR) provides the most usable image possible by cleverly optimising the detail-to-bandwidth ratio. By using this iDNR, the image clarity is improved, and the storage requirements are reduced significantly. The 720p starlight HD camera requires up to 30% less bandwidth than other 720p and SD cameras. Use everywhere, view from anywhere By applying the Bosch Dynamic Transcoding Technology, HD quality images can be viewed from any location that has access to the internet, even if the available bandwidth is only 128 kBit/s. The video streams can be viewed from your iPad, iPhone or browser, the free Bosch Viewing Client, or the Bosch Video Management System. Use the App to search for events based on time and date references. Benefit from full IVA support using forensic search, either directly from the App or via the Web browser playback interface. Having found an event or a point of interest, pausing the replay causes Instant Display Enhancement to present the HD image in its original recording quality.

Day/Night versions of Bosch DinionXF cameras on show at IFSEC
Day/Night versions of Bosch DinionXF cameras on show at IFSEC

At IFSEC 2005, Bosch Security Systems displayed two new Day/Night versions of its high-performance, 15-bit DSP DinionXF range.  For round-the-clock surveillance, the DinionXF Day/Night versions feature a built-in infrared filter for daylight surveillance that automatically moves from in front of the lens when the light level falls below a present value (at night infrared is the most useful region of the electromagnetic spectrum for imaging).  For night-time surveillance, the camera also automatically switches to monochrome mode to increase sensitivity. The DinionXF Day/Night versions have built-in, through-the-lens infrared metering and detection that prevent reversion to daylight mode if the camera is illuminated by an infrared source at night.  The IR filter can also be switched manually via the alarm input, through the camera menu or via the Bilinx coaxial bi-directional control interface.  The new cameras also feature SensUp that dramatically enhances the effective sensitivity by decoupling image accumulation from the video output and by increasing accumulation time on the CCD up to ten times.  Bosch’s SensUp works with continuous shutter speed adjustment for the smoothest possible video level control.  SensUp is most effective where the only light is from the moon, stars and scattered radiation. Enhanced night-time imaging guarantees round-the-clock surveillance Lens Wizard automatically detects lens type and sets focus for 24-hour cycle Video Motion Detection allows selection of four fully programmable areas XF-Dynamic feature extends dynamic range for outstanding image quality CCD imaging and DSP technologies enable best possible sensitivity
