Intellian has announced the launch of its new 1.5m Ku to Ka convertible VSAT terminal, known as the v150NX. This pioneering system is the world's first 1.5m antenna capable of switching between Ku and Ka bands, providing adaptability for future advancements and supporting the 2.5GHz Wide Ka-band networks as well as various satellite constellations, including GEO, MEO, and LEO.
Enhanced RF Performance
The v150NX system is noted for its efficient design and superior RF performance compared to other 1.5m systems currently in use. Designed for ship owners, operators, and network providers, it allows for a simple conversion to Ka-band by merely replacing the RF Assembly and Feed, as the system's reflector and radome are optimized for both frequency bands.
Exhibition at Satellite Show
This week's Satellite Show at the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre in DC features Intellian's v150NX Ka model. The terminal, set for display at booth #925 from May 6-9, 2019, demonstrates Intellian's continuing efforts in satellite communication technologies. The v150NX Ka is compatible with the high-speed 2.5GHz Wide Ka-band networks and has already achieved impressive speeds of 830Mbps in trials. Its capability to track GEO, MEO, and LEO satellites ensures outstanding performance and positions it for next-generation high-speed and low-latency networks.
Versatility and Adaptability
Both v150NX and its Ka counterpart provide dependable, high-throughput connectivity at sea and can be quickly deployed as a cost-effective satellite tracking solution for land gateway systems. They support smart satellite handover, facilitated by an internal mediator, and can manage satellite connections on both mobile and fixed platforms.
Intellian's Innovative NX Platform
The new NX platform featured in Intellian's 1.5m systems streamlines the installation process by using a single cable that incorporates transmission, reception, and DC power. This modern modular design ensures reduced ownership costs over the system's lifespan while enhancing reliability and simplifying maintenance efforts.
Commitment to Innovation
Eric Sung, CEO of Intellian, commented on the development: “The industry-pioneering performance, simplified installation and ensured compatibility with future constellations and networks positions our new 1.5m antennas as one of the most innovative, flexible and cost-effective connectivity platforms available for diverse users on land and at sea.”
Alongside the v150NX Ka model, Intellian is showcasing a range of new technologies at Satellite 2019. This includes the LP100, a man-portable, military-spec land terminal; the GX100NX designed for the Global Xpress network; and the OW70, tailored for LEO satellite constellations, further expanding its diverse portfolio of satellite communication solutions.
