Arrow Electronics joins Hedera Council for innovation

Arrow Electronics, a distributor that sources and engineers technology solutions for thousands of pioneering manufacturers and service providers, has joined Hedera Council to support decentralised governance of the Hedera Network, and to develop a global supply chain initiative focused on standards and efficiency. Hedera Council is a governing body made up of pioneering global organisations to foster trust, security and innovation on the Hedera Network, a public distributed ledger technology (DLT). This initiative will focus on enabling real-time visibility into the movement of goods across complex, multi-party supply chains, facilitating automated compliance checks and enhancing predictive logistics capabilities for global manufacturing and distribution systems. As a council member, Arrow will operate a network node and actively participate in the decentralised governance of Hedera’s codebase, helping to advance open-source innovation across industries. Lawrence Chen joins Arrow Electronics board

Arrow Electronics, Inc. announced that Lawrence (Liren) Chen has joined the company’s board of directors and has been appointed a member of the board’s audit committee. The addition of Chen will increase the total number of directors on the board to 10. Lawrence (Liren) Chen Chen is president, chief executive officer, and a member of the board of directors of InterDigital, Inc., a global research and development company focused primarily on wireless, video, artificial intelligence, and related technologies. Before joining InterDigital, Chen served in roles of increasing responsibility at Qualcomm Inc. for nearly 25 years, culminating in his appointment as senior vice president, global head of IP, and legal counsel. In that role, Mr. Chen oversaw Qualcomm’s global intellectual property portfolio and led technology, business strategy, product management, and global eco-system development for Qualcomm Technology Licensing. Chen is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce China Advisory Committee and a member of the Council for Inclusive Innovation of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
