Ipsotek has provided video analytics to Cadogan Estates, the property investment company responsible for running the Cadogan family's Chelsea estateIpsotek has provided video analytics to Cadogan Estates, the property investment company responsible for running the Cadogan family's Chelsea estate, which features London locations including Sloane Street, Cadogan Square and Duke of York Square.

Ipsotek's analytics modules are alerting the client to abandoned packages, vagrancy, vehicle theft and loitering as well as intrusion into sterile zones at Duke of York Square, which is a 10-acre site in the heart of Chelsea.  Ipsotek's software is also reducing the risk of burglary at both retail and residential premises.

Richard Grant, Financial Director of Cadogan Estates, said: "It is unreasonable to put a bank of monitors in front of security guards and expect them to pick up every incident.  As part of our service to tenants and anybody visiting the area we wanted to ensure we had the highest levels of surveillance.  The analytics software means our control room staff can give their best attention to incidents as they arise rather than watching hours of eventless footage."

Mr Grant continued: "We needed assistance on scene analysis and Ipsotek were keen to deploy their system in this kind of environment.  Our control room is manned 24 hours a day and there is both live and retrospective evaluation of events."

Surveillance at Duke of York Square has been IP-enabled by intelligent building specialists CDC, using footage from analogue dome cameras, which is fed into Axis encoders and converted, to an IP stream.

CDC's Integra™ management system allows guards to home in instantly when the Ipsotek software reports a security breach or abnormal behaviour.  Guards see the cause of an alert and are presented with relevant camera views to assess the alarm.

Duke of York Square has 100,000 square feet of retail space and leisure facilities that include twelve hotels, a concert hall, cinema and theatre.

The development is adjacent to the King's Road and is one of the largest public spaces to be opened in London this century.  It is home to major corporate offices and 33 retail businesses with the anchor tenant being fashion chain Zara.

Chris Gomersall, CEO of Ipsotek, said: "The Duke of York Square installation underlines the range of behavioural monitoring available to our clients.  Cadogan Estates is benefiting from alerts on unusual patterns of behaviour across visitors, shoppers, vehicle users and suspected intruders.  This landmark area of the capital joins the London Eye and The O2 as prominent attractions in London to opt for protection from Ipsotek analytics."
