| Raytec awarded Exporter of the Year by The Wansbeck Business Forum |
The Wansbeck Business Forum, which represents more than 2000 companies in the North East, confirmed Raytec as the region's top exporter at a major awards event attended by delegates from over 400 leading businesses.
Speaking after the ceremony, organiser Ken Hastie praised the company for its ongoing achievement: "These are hotly contested awards and the exporter category is a particularly difficult one to win. However with its record of innovation, its investment in product development and its pursuit of excellence Raytec well deserves the title."
Founded three years ago and already selling its RAYMAX IR and RAYLUX White-Light products to over 45 countries world wide, Raytec now employs more than 30 people at its 12,000ft factory in Northumberland.
"Market conditions may be tough but there are excellent opportunities for innovative companies offering the best products," explained Shaun Cutler, Managing Director.
"Our approach to innovation in both Infra-red and White-Light solutions has allowed us to grow our export sales to more than 60% of our turnover and to establish a strong base in the US."
A key advantage of the RAYMAX and RAYLUX lighting products is that they consume much less energy than traditional lamps, and have a much longer lifespan - both of which will save users money, as well as helping to reduce unnecessary energy waste.
"With organisations becoming ever more concerned, not only about security, but about energy efficiency and waste-reduction, Raytec products provide the perfect answer," adds Shaun Cutler.
