Milestone Systems, the world market leader for open platform IP video software, further strengthens its success in the UK by establishing a subsidiary called Milestone Systems UK Limited to provide local support to partners and customers.  Glenn Fletcher, previously at Gardiner Security, is Sales Manager UK.

Milestone Systems has been very active for years in the UK, managing these business activities from the company headquarters in Denmark.  The well-developed market for traditional video surveillance is moving over to the network approach - for which Milestone is a pioneer.  Business is growing fast and local support of the partner channel will ensure this progress continues.  Glenn Fletcher has been appointed to head up the new Milestone subsidiary.

Glenn Fletcher's background is IT-based with industry accreditations including Unix System Administrator, RIT PV4E consultant, and Siemens PABX-VOIP consultant, Nortel Networks VOIP consultant, and Certified Fiber Optic Technician.  In the new millennium he joined Gardiner Security Ltd., because he could see the potential for IT technology to be applied to that industry.  As Manager of their Integrated Systems Division, he founded their Network Video Integration Partner scheme.  Prior to that, he was the Business Development Manager for Panduit Systems managing the Cisco Systems eco-partnership for over 4 years.  He had started out in the telecom industry as Sales Director at an Alcatel PBX telephony house.

"Milestone was central to all the solutions the Gardiner NVIP group implemented, so Glenn clearly shared our vision of convergence in the industry," says Mads Bo Frederiksen, VP Sales at Milestone Systems.  "It's a natural move for him to lift up our UK business to the next level with strong local presence and support."

"Coming from an IT background, I've always had a real interest in new technologies being adopted. The Milestone application is a core component of this, and I'm looking forward to further developing the partner channel in both the security and IT sectors," states Glenn.

Part of Glenn's goals includes furthering education on open platform IP video in the security industry; he will be involved in organizing more training initiatives for this purpose.  He will create a team of specialists, both from installer and distributor companies, who can offer customers the right mix of expertise to ensure optimal solutions for video-enabling their business.
